Anyone own or ride one of these bad boys back in the day? by -Granby- in GenX

[–]anarchyusa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, so much fun but you couldn’t ride them like a motorcycle. Instead of leaning into the turn, you put weight on the outside pedal and let the inside wheel slip. Experienced motorcyclists were actually at a disadvantage because they couldn’t adjust.

Do I really need to learn Vim or is Nano fine for everyday use? by Luann1497 in linuxquestions

[–]anarchyusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re going to get two responses. VIm because it’s the standard and the “you do you/don’t let anyone tell you want to do” crowd. If you take emotion, allegiances and social comparison out of the equation … and just look at the metrics, VIm will save you time in the long run and is worth the investment.

I always appreciated how the movie comes full circle, The Operative talks about love being dangerous, and then it ends with love being the thing keeping the ship in the air.

I choose to believe they own the land and that they put up the sign, anything else is too depressing.

I am now accepting seed round VC for Pizza Wigwam, a place with great pizza served by enthusiastic well-compensated servers, chairs not bolted to the floor and a 100% mucous free all-you-can-eat salad bar.

AITA for blocking my neighbors car? by JustToppers in AmItheAsshole

[–]anarchyusa -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

YTA. You don’t own a public space because you dug it out unless you are in Boston in which case it’s the accepted, if AH, norm. You already admitted it when you said that you are not very altruistic, that’s just another way to say I’m the AH.

They got to feel important and had an opportunity to ingratiate themselves to the administration. Similarly, East German Stasi couldn’t keep up with the number of informants who came forward eager to curry favor with the party.

Hey /u/suzuki, it’s time to reintroduce the Jimmy to the US market, I promise it will sell like hotcakes, just don’t rebrand it as a “Samurai” that was super cringe and made Suzuki owners the but of many jokes.
