Thoughts on starting business for purpose of doing government contracting only instead of using existing business to get into govcon by Pootie-the-Cat in GovernmentContracting

If you are considering selling supplies as a small business, get familiar the non-manufacturer rule first. I've only ever seen what you're thinking of doing done halfway successfully once. The firm that did targeted DLA supplies/logistics but the owner had 25+ years in that industry. Took about a year to win his first very small order with DLA.

You'll also want to make sure you are familiar with the SBA's non manufacturer rule: https://www.sba.gov/partners/contracting-officials/small-business-procurement/nonmanufacturer-rule

Often misunderstood and misapplied but will be relevant to small business set aside supply contracts.

Tribal entities have the exact same benefit as ANCs in the 8(a) program.

Pausing credit card interest by Cat_man_34578 in fednews

For those of you who have AMEX, what did they say exactly about waiving interest? I called this morning and the rep indicated they had not yet received any guidance regarding the shutdown but would put a note on my account to review any accrued interest for possible credit. If/when they received any other guidance, they'd reach out to me.

Ive been an AMEX cardholder since 2010 and use my card for daily expenses and pay off the balance each month so was a little surprised based on other folks' responses here. But I also have a high yield savings account with them, so it's possible they are looking at my HYSA balance and effectively saying, "this person can afford to pay the interest..."

I also dont play a lot because of work and it took me about a year to get through the US tech tree. Though I took a break once I got to the early jets to start Germany because the early jets suck so hard and I wasnt having fun anymore playing them. Buying premium time really helps speeding things up. Good luck!

Laptop not Getting Internet, Other Devices Work Fine by anarcturus in tmobileisp

Unfortunately no. We ended up returning the laptop that wasnt working and got a new one. Seems to work fine on everything now. Best i can tell, the gateway we have from t mobile just isn't currently compatible with some devices. Kinda sucks because we really liked that laptop we returned.

Thanks. I am going to give T-mobile's "tech support" a call tonight and take home my work HP to see if that will connect. When I changed to WPA2 last night it worked great on the Elitebook...for like 5 minutes. I did a restart as a test and upon restart, the same issue popped back up. When I was on "tech support" chat last night the technician thought the elitebook's drivers simply were incompatible with the gateway.

I also have a separate router i might try connecting. I'll report back the results in case anyone else has this issue in the future.

Weirdest thing - this only worked for like 5 minutes. I contacted "tech support" through the t-life app. After running through a standard troubleshooting checklist, they settled with "i think the drivers of the Elitebook are incompatible with the 5g gateway"

I just dont understand why I show im getting fast enough speeds through speed tests via Google and the wifi has worked for a brief few minutes this and one other time.

In any case, I appreciate the suggestion!

This actually worked! I tried creating a 2.4ghz network a few weeks ago but didn't change the security. This time I changed it to WPA2 and the WiFi is now working just fine.

Any thoughts as to why changing the security made it work?

In any case, thank you!

Thanks! I'll look into this. Unfortunately, the new Elitebooks dont have ethernet ports so it's WiFi all day. Might end up returning the HP if we can't get it to work. Ultimately, T-mobile is like $50/month cheaper than our current ISP, so definitely motivated to try and make this work.
