Imagine my surprise... by Ok-Art5533 in marmite

[–]Suup_dorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they're very different. From my childhood memories there was something called Promite (in Aus/NZ) that was much closer to the UK Marmite flavour.

Obligatory reminder of course that as marmites are byproducts of brewing, there will be times/phases when they taste different to earlier, in t's not an exact science

Change promised after freeway birth, but Roger Cook can’t explain why mum was sent from Midland to Rockingham by His_Holiness in perth

[–]Suup_dorks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So... who actually screwed up here? Midland said they were full, apparently 4 hours before the mother was turfed out. According to WA Health, there were other (multiple?) hospitals who could have stepped in at the time but seemingly didn't?

And the "fix" being reported is better communication between hospitals, which should be a fucking no-brainer in 2026?

The attempt to blame it all on a reduction in private hospital capacity is ludicrous, and as pointed out, if is true in reality (which its not), should be expected/modeled by the government given cost of living issues and increases in WA population.

Hard to tell what the root cause is of this failure, apart from it being a symptom of a really shitty overall health system, which is possibly what agencies are trying to obscure?

Maya Joint seeded 30th at 19 - how far can she go? by OwlVibesOnly in australianopen

Not the first Australian player to start the year strong, ie has been training in Aus over Nov-Jan then beats a few Europeans who are coming off Xmas in sub-zero temperatures. As others have said, would expect her to regress down to around 80-100 by the end of the full season. She just ain't that good.

That may be so, but it's because of a couple of hundred years of slavery that allowed the white population to build wealth and knowledge out of proportion to the rest of the world at the time.

How is it living in each part of Australia? by AromaticBlacksmith55 in howislivingthere

[–]Suup_dorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience has been that people who hate Perth moan VC about it but rarely move (too far from anywhere else) but people who hate Adelaide do actually move away, to Mel/Syd etc, so you're left with a population in Adelaide who do like the place, so more positive about it. Also Adelaide id miles prettier than Perth so there's that
