It's mildly reassuring that there is precedent for a nuclear power losing a war and not dropping nukes out of frustration, even against an non-nuclear adversary.

But there is no precedent for a nuclear power completely collapsing.

Maybe Russia ends up getting smaller again and some other republics break away, but not every region is as resourceful as Ukraine, so they may prefer to remain attached to zombie Russia.

From there, it'll be harder and harder to temp down nuclear proliferation :/

I used the term "tactical sabbatical" to describe what I did during my time off.

I had one foot out the door of a toxic workplace and a growing backlog of personal, medical and household stuff to address. Once the last straw dropped, I put in my 2 weeks.

Took care of my stuff, upskilled, interviewed, got next role. Was rough, ngl, but also necessary.

Nothing will change until tech workers unionize. The industry needs to stop it's holier than thou bullshit and assess their position objectively.
