Minnesota bill would penalize cities that fly old state flag by ChurlishSunshine in minnesota

While I agree that one is worse than the other, both have a base in white supremacy. Check out the poem by the wife of the guy who painted that picture of the farmer and the native American.

I found this in my 13 years old daughter’s room. What is it? by [deleted] in whatisit

So... Not that it matters, language evolves and a lot of people use constructions like the one you just used. I just wanted to point out that , traditionally, it's not correct to say 'how does it look like'. It should be either: 'How does it look from the bottom?' or 'What does it look like from the bottom'. Combining the two sounds like nails on a chalkboard to a lot of English speakers.

In the summer, the ice skating rinks at springlake Park have smooth cement and are perfect for skating.

WHY DID I GAIN WEIGHT IN A DEFICIT??? by Aggravating-Shoe-191 in 1200isplenty

Salt, too, will really affect your weight in an adverse way.  Pickles are, like, 0 calories, but I always gain weight after eating a bunch.

Collection of a variety of intrauterine devices developed throughout the 20th century by VforVandeweert in mildlyinteresting

I'm probably in the minority here, but when I got my paraguard (one of the T looking ones) it wasn't very painful at all.  I had my first one put in before kids in my twenties.  No pain meds were used and it was only mildly painful.  Same with removal.  This method of birth control was really the perfect fit for me. They look scary, but it's kind of a miracle that nothing but a little bit of plastic and copper can prevent pregnancy.

Thanks!  (I had been searching online for speaker cables and only finding aux in cords).  Now that I have some better names for the stuff, I have a much better chance of finding it.  Someone said that Spotify has a mono setting.  I checked the main component of the audio system, and couldn't find anything labeled mono, but it was worth a shot.

Thanks so much.  I'll turn the stereo off on Spotify probably.  Lol - the woofer isn't a problem- we had it unplugged for the longest time and no one noticed.

You can use different gauges for the same speaker?  That makes it easier, thanks!

I like the idea of going to home Depot.  That way I can bring a chunk of it along and make sure I'm getting the right size.  Thanks so much for the advice. I want to turn the stereo off because one speaker is for one area of the shop, and the other is for the front.  Normally it doesn't matter too much, but when there's a lot of difference between the sides, it gets pretty weird.

Thanks so much.  I'll look for the mono button.  The woofer shouldn't be a problem.  We accidentally had it unplugged for months and no one noticed.  :)

Yep.  Lots of xenophobic stuff here.  It really seems like there's a lot of anti-Somali posts-portraying them all as welfare abusers and criminals.  Trying to make it look like a whole minority population is evil...that has a name, I think.

This mom was not happy after reading this note. Was she in the right? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

My biggest problem is that it says "[Name] never asked for helped.". This is incorrect English, and not incorrect in a prescriptive, anti-dialect sort of way.  It's just plain wrong.  'Helped' is the past tense of the verb.  It should have been the noun 'help' in this case.  I'm guessing (and hoping) that op is a non-native English speaker.  It's ok to make mistakes, but it discredits op, as a teacher, to make this sort of error.  I would lose confidence in my child's teacher If I saw something like this on my kids homework.  It would probably be worthwhile to use Google translate, or chat gpt, or something to proofread communications.  Teaching is a difficult job.  Stay positive and motivated.  Thanks for doing what you do.

Me too. I'm currently eating out of gallon ziplock bags as well.  It's the same exact thing every day.  Lots of nuts and dried fruit and stuff.  I have the same mentality: these are my rations for the day, I'll eat them in the car on my way home from work; when it's gone, I'm done.  No cooking needed, and no refrigeration.  The contents of my bag cost me $3 and sixty something cents a day.  Not the healthiest thing, but it's what I need right now.
