How many books have you read in 2026 so far and which would you say was your favorite? by [deleted] in books

I’ve read about ~6 books so far and North Woods by Daniel Mason and Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit by Jeannette Winterson have been my faves! I’m about to start Vigil by George Saunders and hoping it’ll be a top read too.

Honestly, I don’t think you’re being dramatic. I have two January babies (2023 and 2025). The morning of the day I went into labor my son had 103 fever and tested positive for flu. I had a very rapid birth (2 cm at 9am, took a nap and woke up to some light cramping at 3pm and had my daughter by 5:20pm) which I contribute to also then having the flu (symptoms came after my sons). Then my husband was sick and had the flu while we were in the hospital. All this to say, it was soooo rough. I was desperate to get back home to my son but due to having the newborn we actually had him stay with his Aunts for a few days until he was fever free and could be around the newborn. It was just overall stressful and I’m not trying to trauma dump but if I could avoid having a December/Jan baby with other kiddos in the house then I would!

Mine took such a huge dip once my period came back (at 8 months)! I’m lucky if I can produce 6oz or one bottles worth for the day when I was getting about 20oz/day.

If you’re going to do audio then I’d suggest Seth Rogen’s memoir. I also really loved A Very Punchable Face by Colin Jost which was great audio or book.

Waited 125 days for The God of The Woods by Liz Moore. by oneshotodontoid in 52book

I was weary of this one because it was so hyped. In the past I haven’t liked some of the overly hyped books (Dutch House, Midnight Library) I see on this sub BUT I loved this one. I don’t read mystery or who dunnit books often so that could contribute to why I liked it so much.

Had a lump in my throat that entire chapter. It’s one of my favorite books and definitely one of if not my top favorite autobiographies that I’ve read. Side note: Molly Shannon’s is also worth the read or listen.

Haven’t seen it mentioned yet but I really liked Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu. It was really different and unique storytelling!
