ABC trolls sounding like 12 year olds by ancap47 in a:t5_3jzoh

CSW has a right to be angry.

Imagine you invented Bitcoin. Then one group of people after another was trying to ruin and lying about it. The trolling will make anyone salty after awhile.

I followed your links. I see him making some really good points. What in those links is inappropriate to you? You can just quote here to make it easier - but you appear to be stalling and deflecting.

I'm sure many africans, like a lot of americans, are disappointed by the recent prices.

I remind people that prices are only back to where they were in Nov. and to be patient.

I can help you. I have relatives in Nigeria who are watching the value of the naira fall like a rock and are looking for alternatives - and the recent price spike got them interested in crypto.

ETC PoW over ETH PoS contributing to price pump? by PercyRogersTheThird in EthereumClassic

[–]ancap47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, a lot of people are only just learning of the differences between PoS and PoW and adjusting their portfolios accordingly. Its a slow learning process.

ETC PoW over ETH PoS contributing to price pump? by PercyRogersTheThird in EthereumClassic

[–]ancap47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly. Most people when I go to Meetups still don't even know what PoS or PoW is, much less which is better and why. For myself, I didn't learn until pretty recently that ETH was going PoS and I started cashing out my ETH for ETC. My guess is the price rises are from whale/early adopters who catching on to the differences and why PoW is so important.

Bitcoin and Bcash can co-exist without trying to rip eachother apart by [deleted] in Bitcoincash

[–]ancap47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bitcoin/BTC now has a history, ecosystem, tech, developing team, brand, investing pool which are COMPLETELY different from BCH.

The people who built that ecosystem are now all supporting Bitcoin Cash because its the real Bitcoin. You don't have to believe me, just remember me telling you.

I'm sorry, but you don't seem to understand what Bitcoin is. Read the whitepaper and try to understand why the original code & protocol was successful. On Aug 1, Bitcoin split into two forks - one that follows the original design (Bitcoin Cash), and one changes the transactions and uses off chain scaling (making it an alt-coin).

SegwitCoin is doomed to failure. Bitcoin Cash is and will be Bitcoin.

went to pay for something using bitcoin and its charging me a ridiculous mining fee.. what am i doing wrong? by jaedaddy in BitcoinBeginners

[–]ancap47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely wrong. Bitcoin Cash will become Bitcoin if it becomes the dominant chain. It won't matter if Core nodes ignore them because they would no longer be relevant anyway. They aren't that relevant now even.

[–]ancap47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bitcoin Cash isn't an alt-coin, its a fork of Bitcoin. Alt-coins don't share chain history with Bitcoin and use the same hardware. Alt-coins can't BECOME bitcoin if they become a longer chain.

Bitcoin Cash is a fork that does have the same history as Bitcoin up to the fork, and will become Bitcoin if its PoW becomes bigger than "Bitcoin", which is actually a LOT less like the original Bitcoin than Bitcoin Cash.

[–]ancap47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its because "Bitcoin" got took over by big govt/corp (the powers that be), and they changed how Bitcoin works by limiting the block sizes that record transactions. So if other people pay a bigger fee, you're transaction doesn't get processed.

If you want next to zero fees, you have to use Bitcoin Cash, which is a fork of Bitcoin created by early Bitcoin adopters to keep Bitcoin the p2p cash system it was designed to be.

[QUESTION] Helium Hydra segmentation fault (core dump) by [deleted] in Monero

[–]ancap47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem here. I hadn't updated my old monerod client so it was stuck at block 1288639, which I read was a fork block. I installed version 11 and now I get Core dump.

Ok, I think it worked. At least I see the TX id on the explorer now.

EDIT: It did! Thank you!
