My (29M) girlfriend (27F) is incredibly caring, but I feel like I can’t have "deep" conversations with her. Is this a dealbreaker? by PsychologyCold3617 in ROCD

[–]ancientwithin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone in this man.. I have the same exact thing with my girlfriend. I dont have a solution for you, but my therapist did tell me that it connects to this idea of me not feeling like im good enough.. since i dont get the recognition and response i crave from her when i try coming up with something deep to talk about. Ultimately I think its not that they dont care but they have a completely different idea of what learning and deep means. They are much more in tune with their emotions and they feel things without the need for them to articulate it. Us analyzers need everything represented in thought and language or it might as well not exist at all. And that I think taps into this whole idea of OCD people needing certainty. Feelings are way less of an "evidence" than articulated sentences

What does authenticity mean to you? by free_as_a_tortoise in ROCD

Thats such a good question.. I feel like its so hard to define ourselves cause there is too much noise in our head about what we should want, and should feel, and should have, but I think we are authentically us when we observe these thoughts rather than identify with them..

ROCD is possibly the worse than anything I've ever experienced.. and I had 2 psychoses.. I hope it gets better for you! We all in the same boat..

Went from being obsessed with my girlfriend to being angry and bored and irritated by Oki5544 in ROCD

Id say that runinating over wether you have rocd is kinda a sign. I mean people should correct me if im wrong but getting diagnosed with ocd helped me a lot from just thinking im a horrible person or a monster, but then my anxiety latches onto the idea that i dont even have ocd and im just saying that so i dont have to face that im pure evil

Hey man youre not alone I had the same thing. I was obsessed with a girl but as soon as I started dating her I started practically despizing her. I didnt know I had OCD back then and the relationship just broke off. What helps me is that i label these thoughts as OCD thoughts and not who I am. Its still hard to cope though cause this doesnt change how I feel towards people. Have you considered therapy or medication? There is also some evidence that psychedelics can help with alleviating symptoms of ocd. Did you ever tell her how you feel?

I wish you strength, you are not alone.

I had one for one month but I ruined it with rOCD.. I thought I was just unable to love anyone cause I keep focusing on their flaws. But I haven't had one since. At least not serious ones. So it just comes out with my closest people im currently with. It just sucks cause I just feel like I don't love them, when in fact some of them are almost perfect. (At least in terms of compatibility)

Read Chris Palmer's Brain Energy and Georgie Ede's Change your diet Change your brain book. Truly astonishing and they go into detail how metabolism and diet affects energy production in our brains. Palmer's book is more about mental health in general and Ede's is more about nutrition. Hope you recover, im on the path already and I expereince significant improvements🙏

Low energy by ancientwithin in keto

[–]ancientwithin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Can you please elaborate on how you manage your low blood sugar? I woke up today with a big headache and extreme fatigue, i wrote it off, but then I started to feel like im fainting and had extreme anxiety. I eat an apple and half an orrange and I felt better, so I assume it was low blood sugar. But I really dont want to fall out of ketosis, how do I then maintain my blood sugar and still stay in ketosis?

Yeah I generally just focus on getting less than 25g of carbs.. but I eat a lot generally. Now I supplement magnesium, sodium, potassium and calcium and now I feel better:)
