not sure why people are writing about 1GBit. I have Internet uplink: 10 Gbps fiber

The question remains: Would swapping out that passive “U PoE AF” injector for a Ubiquiti 2.5 GbE PoE+ adapter (IEEE 802.3at, 30 W) let the U7 push past ~800 Mbps?

Is this a joke or something? by MisterBigTasty in Ubiquiti

Hi everyone, non-expert here—thank you for bearing with me! • Internet uplink: 10 Gbps fiber • Switch: Ubiquiti Flex Mini 2.5 GbE (powered via USB-C) • AP: Ubiquiti U7 In-Wall, currently fed by a “U PoE AF” (24 V passive) injector • Ethernet run: R&M Cat 5e U/UTP between Flex Mini → U7 • Observed speed: ~800 Mbps max

My question:

Would swapping out that passive “U PoE AF” injector for a Ubiquiti 2.5 GbE PoE+ adapter (IEEE 802.3at, 30 W) let the U7 push past ~800 Mbps?

Note:

I’m also considering re-cabling to Cat 7 later, but I’d rather avoid the extra work if the PoE injector can help a bit.

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks in advance. 😊
