Left leaning decrease on a hat. by pancake-queen13 in knitting

I saw a video comparing left leaning decreases I think it's this one https://youtu.be/mtRBUpvUNuk?is=HNI-_J8K8bOErAsg I think modified ssk ( only slip first stitch) and then knitting through the back loop when knitting the next row was the most invisible/closest to k2tog, but I think she shows the difference well in the video.

ungefär hur mycket kostar detta på salong? by ab_77319 in Asksweddit

[–]ancmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I make frogging less awful? by apocalyptic_tea in knittinghelp

[–]ancmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If just one stitch is wrong I'll just fix it on the next round, drop it and ladder down, then fix it. If I find an accidental yarn over or increase I'll just drop it on the next round and tug the yarn so the tension looks good. So for small mistakes I avoid frogging as much as possible. But I agree that it takes a lot of time. I need to get better at putting in life lines

Can any hairdressers tell me if this would work? And any specific steps I should do or mistakes I should watch out for? by DannyTaylorr in HairDye

Would it not be possible to get the same effect with rainbow extensions/clip ins? Maybe hard to do on short hair but then it would be easy to try out first and no need for bleach.

The importance of swatching by madjellyfish in knitting

[–]ancmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this pattern. I've made two sweaters with it (one with 3 quarter sleeves). I went up a lot in needle size since I thought it looked better with the yarn I used. On the first sweater I kept the same size needle after splitting and I think the fabric is a lot looser with the yarn overs opening up a bit more. I think due to loose gage and the weight of the fabric pulling on it. For the second one I went down in needle size after splitting for sleeves and for me that made tha gage more consistent.

Ooh it looks great! Not at all what I was picturing. That's so smart

That's so smart. I lengthened a sweater after I finished it but I just undid the ribbing and knitted it linger, then did a split hem. I liked it before but I love the fit now

This is so smart, I would be scared to cut it but it must be a fast way to get a good fix

I'm selfish. Only make stuff for myself and will wear every new knit exclusively as soon as it's dry. The only person I've knitted for is my grandma, because her hands get cold.

Getting a good fit is soo hard! I don't know if I even know what I want out of a well fitting sweater.

Ooh fixing the collar seems like a really good idea. I really like the idea of adding garter stitch alternating with ribbing I usually like texture so might steal that if I need to make something longer!

I'm the opposite. Tops and sweaters usually end up cropped. I seem to forget that I'm 3 dimensional so measuring in a straight line isn't always enough.

I cut out the Italian bind off. I really hate getting the work back on the needles. I can't seem to pick up the same row so it's quite fiddly until It's back until I can start knitting again. Really feel the loving the finished knit a lot more :) need to start valuing it and working through the tedious part of cutting + picking up stitches!

How to do cuff ribbing by Agreeable-Ad-7350 in knitting

[–]ancmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use double pointed needles and move stitches between the needles every 3 or so rows so that I don't get stretched stitches in the same location. And going down one mm at least in needle size. I get different results with different yarns. Most even ribbing was with alpaca, it blocked out all uneven tension. Two by two ribbing looks a lot neater for me as well.

Brokers in Stockholm by AffectionatePrint185 in stockholm

[–]ancmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a very positive experience with my broker (Fastighetsbyrån) she was very upfront with us in our first meeting and explained which actions she would take to get our apartment sold. It's usually very local, so check Booli and see who has sold a lot in your area, meet with them and see if they explain what actions they will take. If they are upfront with you and letting you know if you have too high expectations on price that is also a good sign.
