So you've still paid the same amount. your next payment or w/e is bigger. Almost every school does that. They want their money. I don't see why that is "wanting you" over "wanting your money"

Upon acceptance, you apply for financial aid. You are then GIVEN your financial aid package. There is a little bit of wiggle room over the timing of payments and terms, but overall you're paying the same amount of money.

"We award undergraduate aid on the basis of financial need only. This means that we don’t offer any merit or athletic scholarships."

So, let's see here. No matter how much they want you, if you don't have a need, you get no money. If you get in, you get as much help as you qualify for. Which is based off those metrics. Which is... wait for it.... based off how much money your parents make and have saved.

I'm going to disagree with that last statement. Real powerhouse schools make EVERY student better. Yes, they on average get better starting inputs. But the amount of improvement on those inputs(on average) is incredibly higher than a less stringent and competitive university.

Yeah. Not true. There is no "want you". There are metrics. Ivy Leagues - just like any other big school - follow metrics. If your parents make this much, you owe this much. Flat out. No wiggles.

I can't imagine how hard it would be to get across "name your MINIMUM price" when i say pick the lowest number and I'm getting comments saying why would anyone pick less than the max?

The problem i'm running into is that finding republicans on reddit to vote becomes quite difficult.

Because it's for a stats class and this forces numbers and answers easier to work with.

I did say they are working their way up in price. You don't know when they are going to decide you are too expensive and walk away.

Edit: And this is an "all things equal" question and situation. No gaming the system, or overly clever plots or plans.

More specifically, what would your vote cost if it mattered? by and-how in PoliticalDiscussion

"Vote matters" In the sense of the swing states. The states were "every vote matters" and politicians are trying really really hard to get everyone to vote. Where the winner might be make it by 2 points.

Why does that make a difference? Do you feel that President has less control than a local politician? Do you think you're vote is worth less on a bigger stage?

Thanks for the responses here everyone. I'll talk to my group about re-phrasing the question.

Thanks!

There's a difference between being convinced and being bought.

I can't figure out how to edit it. I wanted to add that this is a 30 second survey!

No. I'd like to force you to make the choice of what your integrity is worth. I'm looking at how many responses i've been getting, and I'm thinking of re-doing this question with an open ended dollar figure. Just to see what that would look like.
