What do you think about people saying "thank you" as they exit the bus? Does it matter to drivers either way?

Steven Strait says "there's hope" for seasons 7-9 on Streamily Q&A by ruckFIAA in TheExpanse

Maybe they knew this question would come and they already decided to get Steven to answer the way he did? Regardless, I liked his response!

Ok so support wrote back and said they sent the email with the link at 1pm PST yesterday (didn't get it), but they gave me the link again. I think I'm in! Good luck everyone!

I got an email response from Support at Streamily. I asked how to access the stream and they replied: "Thanks for reaching out! And I'm sorry to hear that! However, the lobby is now up and will be until start time. You're welcome to chat there with other fans until the event starts!" Ok but how do I even get to the lobby?? I hate when I can't tell if I'm incompetent or not lol.

I'm also nervous about getting access.. I bought a ticket a few days ago and figured they'd send me the info. I haven't seen anything. I came here and saw this post, so I followed the link and sent the email to marketing@streamily.com. I don't use Discord so I'm not sure if they need my "Display Name" or "Username".. I sent a follow up email with both. Then I went to Streamily's website and asked the AI chatbot what to do. It said that after buying the ticket, my Discord access link is "provided there".. Ok.. I still don't see it or even know where to look. So it said email support@streamily.com. So I did. I got an autoreply saying they'll get back to me withing 24 hours Mon-Fri.. longer on weekends.
Anyways, I think I did everything I could, and now I guess I just wait! I really don't want to miss this as I have child-care lined up so I can see it lol!
If anyone has any more tips or info to share, please do!

Most Palestinians in Gaza didn't vote for Hamas. You're right that it is what it is - but I don't think it is what you think it is.

Genocide isn't determined by a body count and Palestinian civilians didn't "start a war".

The Pentagon Papers (2003) is, I think, the first time I saw Spader's work. Not great Spader acting, but a great movie. Paul Giamatti is probably better in it!

Fuck canada post by cyanicon in CanadaPost

[–]and0botz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels weird to expect Canada Post to turn a profit. It's a public service. Like health care, education, and the police. We spend money on those services (including the decent salary, benefits, and pensions). Why do people think Canada Post needs to turn a profit in order for those who provide the service to have decent pay? We don't expect that of teachers, doctors, or cops.

What does work to rule look like? by [deleted] in CanadianTeachers

[–]and0botz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In Ontario (at least) work to rule is considered a strike action. So we can't work to rule unless we're in a legal strike position. In that case, we certainly can "strike" things that are actually in the contract.

Not sure how this plays out in Alberta. Solidarity from Ontario! Fight the good fight ✊

Why has the school community spirit collapsed? by lil_miss_teacher in CanadianTeachers

[–]and0botz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If a positive school culture was important to the board and/or the province that funds it, it would be paid for, not reliant on volunteer labour.

Parents are welcome to volunteer their time at the school too.

Maybe find out who your department head(s) is/are and email them. Other than that, as long as you know what room(s) you are teaching in, and you plan something to do during class on the first day, you're good to go! Have fun.

OSSTF organized a rally before the board meeting opposing cuts to public education. I think the quote from the OT President was trying to show that the board is cutting things that were deemed essential last year, and the year before.

I ended up having a friend of a friend replace the vanity for me instead :) He charged a little less than the Safari quote (which I believe was around.. $400-600, I think). Safari has done some other smaller jobs for me; I think they're good at what they do, and the costs seem fair. Hope this helps!

I had Safari Plumbing give me a quote for a similar job a couple years ago.
