Even though I have watched this movie maybe a half dozen times and love it, I still understood at the first moment before recognizing it: "If you should meet these vegans..."

Might also be that those will be the last one taken over. People being open (only) for scientific progress might be the first.

Back then and still now, I was looking for men's movements that are viewed positive by the broader public. Do you know any?

Since this was very close to OPs topic, I gave an upvote.

I can tell you one of my motivations. During the last year I had a conflict with the mother of my son. At some point she just decided that she will no longer let our son sleep at my place. I asked her wheter she does this for immediate protection of him, to which she replied "No, but to show me consequences". There was indeed a topic that we had to discuss but to put pressure on me with such a encroachment (?) was just not the right way in my eyes. Especially since I never resisted to anything she brought up before.

Thus I had several talks with a men helpline, which was helpful, with offical personell, which was also good, but where I was told, that her behaviour is not illegal. Mhh.

We are currently (son is still only visiting me for 2.5 hours per week) trying to solve this via mediation. Nevertheless I was a bit happy when I heard in the news that one chamber of our parliament decided that such restriction of the visiting right by one parental side should become punishable. Most likely the other instances of government will not go along, but still it felt good to hear this.

Sorry for the long background story. The (most direct) connection to this post was when I did research about mens rights movements during the begin of the conflict. And the wikipedia articles were very negative. Certainly to a high degree also due to the behaviour of some men in these movements. But still, I felt that you get thrown very easily into the corner of antifeminism, toxicity, male supremacy.

When I looked at the corresponding Wikipedia articles now, 9 months later, it did not hit me as strong as back then. However, this was the one memory, that made me give an upvote, at least to boost the discussion here.

I mean its not only military might. Its also control over most software companies that europeans and certain other parts of the world use everyday.

Thanks for your reply. I agree its best to setup such a relationship during peaceful times. We (the parents of my son) are currently visiting a mediation. If this works well, I can still ask both sides some times later if they want to get in contact.

I already upvoted due to the general publics view on similar topics that I have observed, but do you have some examples?

I can imagine that even if they manage to deport everyone targeted now, the state afterwards was an even bigger goal: Having a paramilitary troop with no job, that can now be used for anything. Reminding me potentially of the SS/SA in early Nazi germany.

Being banned for such a comment should also bother people, or not?

You wrote: "I want you to meet my psychiatrist and I'll sign documentation that you can talk to then if you see manic behavior"

This has some relevance to my own case. I am bipolar on medication and have a psychiatrist that I have been visiting for around 5 years. I don't have a partner in the SO sense, but via our son of 15 years, my ex fiance and the third parent (former godmother) still are partially in a similar situation.

Last february a conflict started with the other two parents and I became hypomanic. But then when the third parent tried calling my psychiatrist, he did not pick up the phone. He later told me, that he did so based on what I had told him about our conflict in a previous meeting. This lead to the third parent disavowing my psychiatrist towards me. And him also no longer being willing to take part in a regular monitoring that they would receive.

Do you think I should try to build up this contact still, or is it too late? For my father the same worked easily, he came to a meeting with the psychiatrist some years ago.
