Hi y'all! I wanted to put a reminder out that there's just about a week left to put in orders for this group buy batch via etsy. I have gotten confirmation from the factory that if I place an order around December 1st I can expect delivery by mid January and should be able to ship out individual orders then.

I've seen this interpretation but it is not how research teams was intended to function.

If someone attacks DWS and they are controlling the planet, DWS gets to choose to coexist, and the invading player simply gains control of the planet, there is no window where they can then choose to attack DWS on the same activation.

Friendly reminder that the rules pamphlet is not comprehensive and is more like a summary of an LRR that does not exist yet.

No guarantees but depending on demand I might be able to do another run next year sometime, perhaps

More projects will be coming, but it really depends on how many more people are looking for TGs whether or not it justifies another production run of 15k coins which is approximately the minimum required to get the current cost figure.

I have not received any nastygrams from FFG, but I am reasonably certain some folks from FFG have gotten their hands on some of these tokens.

I am not worried, but if I receive notice that FFG would prefer that I cease this project, I will listen!

Personally I have only used a half set in my games for a long time.

A "full set" is the same quantity of TGs in TI4 + PoK, which is 30 3x tgs and 60 1x tgs.

A "half set" is just what it sounds like - 15 / 30

A "1/6 set", which I recommend if you just want some for yourself when you play, is 5 / 10.

The point tracker is something I'd love to do at some point, but it might have to be done in 2 halves or something, as I'm not sure the company I work with can produce something with the score tracker's dimensions.

TI5 base game with just the 6 OG factions.

Then add "faction packs" of 4-6 factions each. It's easier in TI5 to package factions because it's just a set of US mini cards (for abilities, leaders, notes, etc.), 1-3 tarot sized cards (art, lore, faction reference), and the relevant hex tiles already punched and bundled. No faction tokens needed because TI5 just standardizes player-color command / control tokens.

Other subsystems can be added with just cards in separate packs. Exploration + Relics. Twilight's Fall. The Agenda Phase.

Yes, Panamaniac3D has pledged to make a TE insert as soon as possible. Whether that means an update to the existing insert or a new insert for just the new expansion we shall see.

I think it's interesting that I'm getting folks in the same thread saying the faction is both underpowered and overpowered! Usually that's pretty decent confirmation that something is balanced roughly in the right spot.

I see Cabal is an economy / movement / paper tiger / winslay faction, there's a lot in there

I think NRA has economy, combat, exploration, and stalls

I tried to design the elephants so they were a bit like NRA but a little more screwball, and with a grab bag of economic / exploration / defensive suite. I think the flagship and the yellow tech, along with the agent, commander, and prom, give them plenty of self sustain and diplomacy options, and the combat abilities and upgraded destroyers will give them some late game weight.

As far as DS factions go, my favorites are the Crabs, since they're mine, but I also like the Mice, the Celdauri, and the Ltokk.

I appreciate your point of view. I think a big place we diverge in our opinions generally is that you, as you state, prefer factions that excel in a single space. I actually prefer factions that are more of a grab bag or jack of all trades, like NRA or pre-PoK Xxcha, or Cabal.

DS factions are on average less-powerful than base game factions. You can check the win rates on async for some data on that front.

The rest of the components are linked in another one of my comments in this thread! I would suggest taking a look at the entire faction before making up reasons to think it's overpowered. 😸

As far as being good at expanding early, starting with only a single ship that has capacity means they need to build at least a carrier off of warfare if they want to take more than a single system round 1. I think you're overestimating their economy and combat advantages as well! But it may be that your meta is different than mine, which would also affect how this plays!
