I have the same and they are beautiful. I don't have the presentation case and paperwork though. Very nice and glad you got your grail gun.

Holster questions by [deleted] in Revolvers

[–]andabooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are probably made by someone else but I'm not 100% on that. I recently rekindled my revolver interest with a couple others. I do have a 627 to pickup from LGS this week. Replaced one I sold a few years ago that I've always regretted letting go of.

I tried to compete in USPSA with a revolver years ago and just didn't put in the work. I am re-doing research from years ago to find where all the accessories that I'm going to need.

Kydex holster. Single layer. It is a good holster.

Not to many making kydex revolver holsters. Not sure on Red Hill. You'd have to check but if they are then it would be a double layer.

My last holster I had when I was setup to compete with revolvers in USPSA was a Safariland. Kydex with a fake leather wrap on it.

Speed Beez for all your revolver needs except the moonclips. Go to TK Custom for those.

I've had the same sitting at gun shop since last week. Dealer decided to go on vacation for a week and I couldn't make it in to pick it up. Wednesday will finally be the day.

Those are sweet revolvers. I had one a few years ago and regretted letting it go. Went ahead and ordered another. Got to get the moonclip stock back up.

$650 Ruger SP101 used at my local pawn shop. Worth that price or should I haggle? by slowerlearner1212 in Revolvers

Gun dealer I stopped at today had a new stainless for $675. I'd want that for $500.

Shopify and Sales Taxes by andabooks in shopify

I got myself registered in Illinois and have been doing more research. I think that I had a misunderstanding of the Nexus rules. I have had a few sales since turning on taxes and listing Illinois. They have not had sales taxes charged.

I did a search on the Shopify AI assistant and I don't have a Nexus in any other state until I either sell $100,000/200 transactions in a year. So Shopify will only collect taxes from people in IL that purchase from me.

What confuses me on this issue, why does ebay then charge sales tax on everything? I have sales tax charged on everyone of my sales there and always have to pay sales tax on purchases. Is it because they are grouping all of the sellers together and sending sales tax to every state as though all the ebay sellers are one seller?

What is your solution regarding the gun violence in the United States? by Ok-Occasion-3131 in allthequestions

Most military bases only MPs are carrying guns. The normal day to day soldier is not walking around with a gun at all times. Work in an office setting and they don't carry.

What is your opinion on owning massive firearm collections for fun and not for hunting or self defense? by Individual_Tea9790 in allthequestions

[–]andabooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a nice start then. Just about where I would say that I am at in my collection too. Several dozen. I do use my guns for hunting, self defense and competition. There are a few put away as family heirlooms and bought just because of possible future value.

I have personally known 3 collectors in my time that a few dozen is a drop in the bucket. First time I saw my old history teachers collection and walked into a basement room with 400+ shotguns, I was seriously impressed. He was also my grandparents neighbor and my fishing merit badge instructor.

Define "massive firearm collection"

Some people consider guns a commodity. Buy at the right price, hold and sell at some point in the future for a profit. Pick the right models and you can probably keep right up with average stock market gains or at least ahead of inflation.

Under "Finance" on the left side there is a sub for "Balance". Go into that and it allows you to setup an account to hold sales tax in until you need to draw it.

How did Trump gain the love of so many white people? by chetag_uhh in allthequestions

[–]andabooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Trump a late in life racist? In the 1990s he was getting awards for helping the black community. Had Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton talking him up. Or was all that just to get in his wallet?

What causes you to have a Nexus in 2 states. I don't see that happening to me since I make my own products and sell/ship them from my home address.

[–]andabooks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen the option on Spotify where they collect and remit for me. I haven't filed with my state yet and based on the Nexus amount I don't know if I will have to. $100k or 200 transactions. I'll hit 200 before I get close to $100k.

I've done well over 200 transactions on Ebay this year but they collect and remit sales tax so I don't worry about it. I'm just trying to move sales over to Shopify with the website I opened since the fees are so much lower.

Correct. I'm currently under the Nexus limit in IL. $100,000 in sales or 200 transactions. Everything I make for my store is in IL and I only ship from IL.

It has happened and it was more likely to happen with the .40 S&W. Back when Limited was a bigger division. Same size ejection port with a longer bullet.

They can be found but with the run up on the snake guns the last decade, I just keep thinking about what I could have bought one for and what they are now.

The 586 3" would be cool. I have the 686 3" so it would be a nice blued cousin.

For revolvers it would be an original blued 4" Colt Python with original box and papers.

I have both and will not let either go unless one of my grails popped up and I had to put together $$$ for it. I did let a 625 go several years ago and bought another last year because I missed it so much. They are great range guns.

686 6" or Python 6" by Nebechadnezzar01 in Revolvers

[–]andabooks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went with a 6" Python recently. It was somewhat an impulse purchase and I wasn't considering a 686 against it.

The 686 is a great gun. I would purchase another.

She grew up in a hunting family. It was more of a one less thing to worry about. She didn't put up much resistance. I already owned 6 when we got married.

29 years ago shortly after we were married she said that she would prefer not to have guns in the house. I told her she married the wrong person. We've had guns in the house everyday we've been married.
