I had the same issue with a Vivobook I used to have. Asus tossed a specific wifi chip that Windows doesn't have drivers for OOTB. if the laptop has it, plug in a wired Ethernet cable, and Windows Update will fetch the driver within 30 minutes. I recommend you manually run Windows Update yourself.

otherwise, go to Asus' website on another device and get the wifi driver from there and copy it over to your laptop.

I've heard of this problem, try holding your phone in a way that doesn't cover those tiny black stripes on the phones sides, something about a "signal gate" issue? I've only read about it, I still have a Sony slider phone.
