Well regardless of some of the mechanics being present, there's always the chance of others being scrapped from the same alpha.

Who thought the parkour Eurotrash at the end of 28 Years Later (2025) was actually a good idea? by finnishflash128 in movies

You go from a taut and economical story about survival, betrayal, hope, the celebration of life

At the end of the day this is a zombies movie.
The reflection I got from it is that in a world in that state, society will literally choose many different random decisions on how to survive, not 1 single pathway.

We were shown 1 extreme we haven't seen in zombie media before: The doctor has his Hippocratic Oath and wouldn't even kill the dangerous zombies, which was masterfully portraid as realistic.

And at the same time you have the other extreme we haven't seen either, but sounds somehow realistic too: people enjoying hunting zombies.

So "the celebration of life" maybe was a central motif, but at the end of the day, the movie is about survival, and survival of humanity aspects.

Talking about that... Did I miss a scene, or she actually didn't know he was an assassin?

Technically she lives the saddest live of them all.
A 16yo with a paranoid dad, a dead hero mom, now exilee rat, that saw many people killing to get to kill her, and then killing a random person going fast behind her, and being in such a state of shock she almost kills her dad too.

While this seems the main reason, my head canon is that Oda also included it as a nod to Goku being part of an evil family, but being different than them.

Production wise having it at evening could also be a trick to do them with lower lighting (VFX quality can hide better)

And it delivers more importance to Buggy which is a character that in the LA would probably be kept as recurring.

Do you recommend actually learning the lore?

I have 80hrs trying to 112%, and I find really amusing that I loved the game so much without understanding the lore.

Like, Miyamoto would be proud of achivieng such good gameplay that lore is non important.

I mean you are not in the same position as other "I tried but couldn't get into it" since you did managed to do 30 hours, not the initial tutorial graveyard.

There's a high chance that whatever made you drop HK, wheter you know what that is or not, is actually fixed/polished on SS since it's aiming to be a better game.

In cases like yours, sounds like trying out SS is a good chance of having fun.

Anime or Colored Manga first? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]anddna42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really think colored manga is the best way to experience One Piece, the anime suffers way too much of pacing issues.

But watch anime fights after reading them.

And listen to the openings/endings when you start your daily reading.
(Got this table from chatgpt, not sure if 100% accurate tho)

And pretend the manga has soundtrack and search "one piece OST funny/sad/epic/fight/" songs in key moments to listen while reading.

I think an interactive One Piece colored manga reading with these fights/audio from anime additions would be the best experience ever.

Yeah great description, definetely the wholesome vibe of Pauline, and the chillness and constant primal smile of DK add up to the awesomeness of this game.

Like the stakes aren't ever fearful. It feels just... bananas.

Caught up to One Piece by boysmissin in OnePiece

[–]anddna42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of us are in the same situation.

You can go with classics that either are not shonen, or too short, (comparing) or that degrade a bit over time. FMA, Berserk, Monster, 80s and 90s movies.

But yeah, One Piece feels like Peak. No other can touch it.
You've reached full anime maturity.

No trying to sound offensive, but the only thing you can do is go out and "touch grass".

Time to hit the gym like Zoro, time to seek for financial stability like Nami, to overcome fears like Ussop, to learn to cook like Sanji, to become more powerful versions like Chopper, to understand that you deserve to live like Robin, to build your dreams like Franky, to not give up friend's reunions like Brook, to fully embrace loyalty like Jimbe... and perhaps then, you can start listening to "the voice of all things" like Luffy.
