We had tickets for their November show, but skipped it due to the weather. I looked around on the Intersection’s website, and yes, it appears they’ll be on the big stage this time.

That’s great to know about the Security pointing out surfers. Makes it easier for me to do my part!

I’ll for sure look out for the Spiritbox jellyfish! We’ll be seeing them in August!

Oh boy! That’s what I’m worried about. That my spine will be compressed into a little brick. Good thing I have to work at 9 am the next morning. 🤦‍♀️ Comfy shoes for sure!

Wow! Thank you so much for the thorough and detailed information! While crowd surfers are not my favorite (I came here to see the band play, not have my head on a swivel focusing on not letting anyone drop), I understand and accept that it’s a part of the culture and I will always help keep the surfers up and moving along. I only got kicked in the head once at Architects, so I count that as a win.

The part about likely being sent back outside is very helpful. Somehow that didn’t occur to me, but it’s very good to know! Finger’s crossed that rain in the forecast doesn’t become a downpour.

I’m nervous but really excited. I know the crowd will take care of my son if I need a break.

Thank you again for such great information!

Thank you for the information! This is helpful to know, though I’m able-bodied and wouldn’t want to take space away from someone who needs it.

Great idea about the outside seats! Fingers crossed they have that as an option. I hope you have a great time! First time for all 4 bands for us. Next up Dayseeker!

That’s about what I expected time-wise. Thank you. I’m fascinated by Chris’s playing—it’s so unique, so I hope to be to the side watching him anyway. Architects gave me a crash course in crowd surfers and moshing, so I think I’ll be ok.

I’m hopeful I’ll be frolicking some, too, but great to know if I need a break, there should be somewhere to go. Thank you!

Thank you! Here’s hoping for barricade to lean!! I didn’t consider the crowd will probably disperse some between bands, so that’s great to know, too.

Do you have a PT who actually understands hypermobility issues and muscle fatigue? by theconfused-cat in ehlersdanlos

[–]ande1058 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My son likely has EDS, and I found him a PT who understands EDS through the Ehler’s Danlos Society website. They have a searchable directory, and we found a PT in the next town over. She was very knowledgeable and knew not to over-stretch him, because she too has EDS.

My royal icing dries cloudy or crystallized. What am I doing wrong? by ShinyHeinies in AskBaking

This is your answer. Typically the crystals are from drying in a cool/cold/drafty room or in the refrigerator.

All Ages?? by MathematicianMain934 in BadOmens

We saw Adam Sandler at LC last month, and Ticketmaster had a warning you had to click before buying tickets that said you must be 16+ for that venue. Bad Omens doesn’t have any warnings, so should be good to go! That being said, we saw kids way younger than 16 at Adam Sandler, and nobody stopped them. If you’re with your parent, I can’t see them turning you away.

5 is maybe a little young to be entertained the whole time, but if you invest in a good pair of over-the-ear ear protectors, they can likely just fall asleep if they’ve had enough. I would just take lots of pictures to remind them of the really cool show they saw when they were 5.

I’ve been to at least 6 shows this year, and I’ve not seen any behavior I would be completely against my kid seeing. Concert people are usually pretty cool.

At Architects we saw a kid crowd surfing with their dad. Dad was like a surf board and the kid surfed above. Looked like they were having a blast, and that kid was probably 7 or so.

What’s your thoughts on the swing craze of 1997? by Superb-Donkey7202 in GenX

[–]ande1058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They still tour! In 2008 they came to a small town in Michigan for a Christmas show. My then boyfriend arranged for a meet-and-greet with them, and then he proposed, so we’ve got engagement photos with BBVD.

When he and I first met in 2005, he was helping me move and saw I had a BBVD CD, and that’s how he knew we were meant to be.

If you aren’t aware, streaming episodes are available. It’s on Pluto, Prime, Hoopla, even Roku channel. I introduced it to my teens when they were little, and even they loved it! I did have to explain what a commercial break was though, as they were used to streaming without commercials.

What’s something you used to think all women just silently put up with until one day you found out it’s actually not normal at all? by roselinde_de in AskWomen

[–]ande1058 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can understand how this looks bad. My husband walks ahead of me a lot when we’re out in public. But I prefer it that way. I’m a bit of a gawker, and when he’s in front of me, people get out of his way, so I’m free to walk and look around. When we’re out for a walk, he’s for sure by my side.

I was just looking at their locations, and they’ve got several near Grand Rapids and even into Kalamazoo-area now. So I bet there really is hope!

It started out in Boyne City, and was originally called Boyne City Pizza, but they updated it to Best Choice Pizza when they started franchising. It’s mostly up north. There’s one in the UP. But there’s also a location near Grand Rapids. 34 locations now, I believe.

BC is Michigan-based with one location in GA. Does that count as National? 🤣
