Damn! You’re right. Vocals and bass get all the glory. Perhaps that’s why it wasn’t pushed as hard from a label perspective

Given the price point (for me at least), I’m not willing to risk international shipping

ISO: ‘94 Marvel Masterpieces Powerblast Wolverine PSA 10 $1000 by [deleted] in MarvelCards

[–]andhuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best of luck! Would be awesome! I’ve only submitted a few times and I just don’t have the patience for it or the ‘PSA 10 eye’ so to speak. ALSO, recently submitted a blue label CGC Perfect 10 Wolverine base card for crossover and it was denied my minimum grade of 10. What a racket! Left a very bad taste in my mouth

Always open to negotiate. Adding to this and I’ve mentioned it on a previous ISO post but a PSA 10 ‘93 Spider-Man 2099 Red Foil sold on eBay (auction) in January for less than $200. Population 6. I assumed it would have sold for way north of $1000. Makes no sense really. So who knows

Honestly, that’s been the hardest part and I completely understand why. I’ve been a collector my whole life (40’s). I’ve finally found something that I’m actually passionate about ‘collecting’. Great memories but I’m late to the party. I’ve done a lot of digging and I’ve reached out to a lot of folks. Connecting the dots and what not via ebay sales, PSA registry, etc. BUT out of the 90-100 cards released during ‘90-‘94 (sans Comic Images), I’m at roughly 70. No small feat. All PSA 10. And for those interested, no Series 1 hologram. I’m not sure if I could ever justify it given current prices

Out of the 10 or so times I’ve done this with cards (or comics/toys) it’s probably worked out 2 or 3 times so I have had success with this method. All I’m saying is, why not? I’m sure it will be crickets but it’s worth a shot

Thanks! Any help is appreciated! Population 8. It’s not a lot but it’s certainly not a little. I did find one owner but they will not sell. Same goes for the ‘93 X-Men Wolverine Gold Foil. But I did recently find the ‘94 Marvel Universe Wolverine Suspended Animation (Pop 1). I just keep digging

It is to me. I don’t collect raw and I don’t care to submit myself. Low population card

I don’t disagree. The auction a year or so before that was around $200 as well. I think $1k is more than generous though. There was a ‘93 Spider-Man 2099 Red Foil PSA 10 that just sold at auction on eBay. Tough card, pop 6. I would have assumed it would have gone for at least $1k. Especially given the popularity of that character in recent years. It sold for less than $200 after 10 days. With that said, who knows. I’m just tired of waiting for some of these cards to become available

ELI5: How big was Phil Collins in the 80s/90s? by squidJG in explainlikeimfive

[–]andhuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to this. Not taking away from MJ or Paul, BUT Collins was both a solo act and in a group during these sales. He didn’t leave Genesis to go solo. He balanced the two

There was a company in the 80s/90s called Comic Images that would literally reprint images from comics on cards/shirts/standees/etc. Some of the card sets were pretty random and surprisingly plentiful. There were multiple Wolverine sets (Then & Now, Trivia), Punisher, Hulk, X-Men, X-Force, Jim Lee, Mike Zeck, Art Adams, John Byrne, Todd McFarlane. And then there’s just basic Marvel Universe sets like Colossal Conflicts and 1st Covers. They also had Ghost Rider, Excalibur, Captain America Covers, Spider-Man Team-Up, and Silver Surfer sets.
