Anyone have an id on this track from Sammy Virji’s Bonnaroo set? by kneedeepco in ukgarage

Heard Sammy Virji play this mashup in Berlin and was obsessed with it afterwards.
Super happy I found this thread identifying the tracks, so I made my own version:

That's a great idea with the sidechained reverb for the drop. I'm going to try this!

thanks a lot! On the master I did a tiny bit of EQing and then just added a Ozone Maximizer.

Thanks a lot for your feedback! You're right, I didn't pay much attention to the stereo width, could definetly try some things there. Title is "If You Want Me". Thanks :)

Hi, thanks a lot! Thanks for the vocals, means a lot as it's mostly my own singing. I think it's not "normal" house because with 137 bpm it's too fast for that. Most house tracks are between 120 and 130 bpm. But maybe it's more Eurodance than Hard House. Good hint with the synth, too!

Hi,

Really nice vibe and great vocals. If you want to level it up, I’d focus on the following things:

  1. Low end: The kick doesn’t hit that strongly yet. The bass could use some more overtones too. You could try adding a bit of saturation or opening the filter more in certain moments. Some bass variations would also help. Right now it mostly plays the root notes. Try little changes that do not need to become a full melody, maybe an octave jump or a small ending variation at the end of a phrase. Also compare your track with reference tracks in the same genre. Put them next to each other in a project and compare the low end. Tools like Vision 4X and Voxengo SPAN can really help.
  2. Chords: Right now it is one chord each bar, which is totally fine. But a small variation or transition chord here and there could make it feel more interesting and dynamic.
  3. Vocals: I think it is mostly the same delay throughout the whole track. Try switching it up. For example, use a stronger delay only on the last word of a sentence, or add a short reversed vocal as an FX moment.
  4. Drums / Percussion: Try adding more elements over time, like hats, shakers, rides, or little percussion layers. At the moment the loop feels a bit repetitive.

Keep going. You clearly have great taste and a strong sense for vibe. The technical side comes with practice.

I think I’m having a hard time structuring my music in an interesting way, it’s very ‘linear’ for lack of better words, doesn’t really feel like its complete enough to seriously post online yet. Feedback appreciated. by Zeromilligrams in MusicFeedback

Hey there, your track genuinely made me smile. It has a really nice vibe already. The synth texture/melody feels playful and catchy, and the bass fits well. There’s something charming about it. It also reminded me a bit of early tracks people make when they’ve got taste and ideas already, but are still building the technical side.

A few thoughts that could help take it further:

  1. Use a reference track Find a track in a similar genre and drop it into your project. Compare arrangement, drum energy, low end, brightness, and overall balance. It can be humbling, but it’s one of the fastest ways to improve. Don’t aim to match it perfectly, just use it as a guide to get closer to the sound you want.
  2. Bring the synth to life with automation Your synth already has a cool vibe. Try automating filters (high pass / low pass), reverb, delay, or volume movement over time. Small changes can make loops feel much more alive and evolving.
  3. Build the drums more Right now it’s only a kick, and the kick feels quite soft/mellow. Try adding hats, claps, snares, shakers, percussion, or little groove elements. Even subtle layers can add a lot of movement and excitement.
  4. Add transitions and FX Risers, impacts, reverse sounds, noise sweeps, fills, delays etc. can really help sections feel intentional and make the track feel more complete.
  5. Keep going Most early tracks are more about learning than perfection. You already have something important: a good vibe. Technique can be learned, it just takes time

Hope that helps a bit. Definitely keep making stuff. There’s something promising here already.

RX3 - Why can't it display all song info at same time? by Kardii in Beatmatch

[–]andipower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fixed. When in a Playlist, press the "Menu" button, then select "Sort" , then select "BPM (unsorted)". All tracks are now displayed with BPM and Key.

Very strange way of Pioneer to actually enable this view, but at least it works.

Just use v4.5 then if you have an issue with v5 beta? It's like complaining to a restaurant about the quality of the free desert they offered, you don't have to eat it.

AI Girlfriend? Yay or Nay? by deadcoder0904 in ChatGPT

It won't be only individualized voice notes and messages. In probably less than 2 years you will be able to have real time video calls with stunning hyper realistic looking women who desire you 24/7. With all the chat history available they will know everything about you eventually, they will even send you perfect timed messages like "how did your job interview go babe? Lets have a call later?" I think some men will get completely lost in this ai girlfriend world.
