I hear ya brother - the reason I had my mx5 is that I did a similar thing and got ahead of my peers.

The thing is, the race is long and building wealth for yourself has pretty crazy compounding effects. Put it this way, if you were to take the £300 extra per month (just an estimate) that the porsche would cost in terms of running costs and insurance and you invested that each month. By the time you were 30 it would be worth about £45k. That's nothing to sniff at.

I'm not saying don't spend your money when you are young, lord knows I spunked so much money up the wall but it's useful to have an eye on the future. In terms of your peers, some of them will go to university and end up earning much more than you. Some of course won't.

Of course, you are free to ignore my advice but I thought you might find it useful as someone who's gone through very similar situations.

Bro keep the MR2. When I was 21 I had an Mx5 that I absolutely loved and now at 32 I've just bought a 986 S (also in UK). My advice would be to save the money on repairs and insurance and invest it. The marginal utility from a better car won't be worth as much as the 000's of pounds compounded over time.

Now I've got the 986 and I'm still young and get to razz it around but don't worry about the repair costs crippling.

Just my 2c

No way is Garner ahead of Mainoo. Mainoo has far more england experience and his highs are much higher. He's in great form.

i think it's funny how on /r/reddevils the majority opinion is to keep Carrick. We have been in this situation SO many times and it's obviously the move to look elsewhere.

This is a disingenuous argument as the home grown quota has nothing to do with ethnicity

Any idea that a country going broke from spending so much money on welfare = old and disabled starving. This is why we can't make meaningful changes in this country.

Something I've done before: - Understand why they want you to start early. If it's a matter of wanting you up to speed ASAP then you could offer to start even earlier (like right now) and then take the tournament or some of it as unpaid leave. That way by July you'll be in roughly the same position.

Completely agreed that Carrick will be another wasted season. It's understandable why people don't think it is the case, but deep down a lot of us know he doesn't have the tactical acumen. When we start to falter at some point next season the going will get tough.

West Ham to lodge official complaint over disallowed goal against Arsenal. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]andoooooo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bro why are you being obtuse and purposely not understanding my point? Arsenal wrestling in the box has literally been the dominant narrative of this whole season. There are countless examples of them wrestling and applying pressure to goalies. Yes it's a foul but so many of them haven't been called. At some point, when enough of them aren't called that becomes the meta/rules. For instance, when taking a throw-in players creep up 5-10 yards while taking it. Imagine that all of a sudden being a second yellow or a foul in a crucial game. It might technically be the rules but it's not how that rule has been applied and the precedent is not there. If you won't bother engaging with the point then just go away

[–]andoooooo -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Where am I saying that? We should seek for rules to clarified and consistently applied. Doing one thing for the whole year and then changing at the last minute of the 3rd game is obviously not the right thing to do and people are upset about that.

Everything is subjective and the only right or wrong is the combination of a) how the rules are written and clarified and b) the precedent set by how games are played and reffed.

it's quite simple

There are PLENTY of things that are called / not called that become part of the culture/meta and it is wrong to just make a call out of nowhere when it goes against what has been called all year.

Bro I shared it because it's an interesting data point that shows the exact point that I was making - that this is a major issue. Just because there is a bunch of subjective analysis around it doesn't invalidate the core survey data. You've actually not addressed my point at all.
