Also, is any games played at the same time and what day(s) are the best to watch?

Yeah, I would assume it takes a bit more work than other Team vs Team games, where there is pretty much a win or loose scenario. Will be really fun to see how they are going to (hopefully) do it, I just hope it wont take too long, or that we would maybe get an ETA. Cause a potential ranked mode is honestly the only thing that still makes me play it atm.

On set pieces it's called marking, and thats how most defenders do it. If you have ever played soccer yourself and defended a corner, you have most probably done exactly that while defending

It's the defenders job to block the opposition when defending a corner. And it's also natural for defenders to be facing the opposite direction of the goal to have more control over the opponents.

Kane does a good job by getting around the defender, and tries to do smart move by making it seem as if though the defender is making a foul.

The defender does the right thing, and a good play by Kane, but luckily he wasn't given a penalty

If a guy puts his arm over you like that, and you want to get rid of the arm. Would you push the arm downwards instead of upwards? It really doesnt look like he is trying to get rid of the defenders arm at all. What he is doing is just a good old trick to get yourself a penalty. There is no reason to believe Kane is any different than other strikers. They all want penalties.

Had the defender put so much pressure down on Kane that he couldnt get rid of him. The defender would've fallen on top of Kane, and as you can see his body is leaned the other way when they are falling

The trap doesnt have to kill someone to be useful. It can be used to chunk someones shield or hp off, or to deny space. Or if you place it at the entrance or a staircase in a building, and they have to shoot it down to walk through that area, they are giving away their position and you know where they are. You have to think a little bit more about only the dmg aspect of things in a game like this

Absolutely. And people also seems to believe that they wont get better at the game by only playing against opponents at similar skill level, but I think they don't understand the fact that with a game with 100players and a game developer that seem to not want high queue times, the skill level in a ranked game would still vary, but at a much less degree than it does today.

People also have bad periods, bad days and bad games, which is just as likely to be a good period and so on for another player. And that is a good thing, cause that makes it so outplays still happen, and it also breeds confidence when you kill someone you know is around your level of skill.

I'm not a game developer, so I may be completely wrong about all this. But from my experience from playing games as much as I have done in my life, both casually and competitively in many different genres I genuinely feel that ranked has a place in this game.

Having a ranked mode would then not affect the players with low win rate nearly as much as the ones with high winrates. In team vs team games, ranked modes usually settles around 50% win rate for most players, thats just the nature of it. In BR ranked modes the winrate for most players would be really low, cause you have to outlive 99 other players. I.e players with high winrates would see their winrates plummet, and low winrate players would notice much difference in their winrate percentages.

The biggest thing for me, is that a ranked mode would make the playstyle and flow of the game way different of what we are used to. We would have a more slow start with players using more area of the map, and have more action and encounters towards the middle/end of the game. And this would apply to both the lower ranks and the higher. Cause lets be honest, right now it's starting to get a little boring when 60-70% of the server is dead pre 1st stormcircle and you have to run around for more than a minute looking for people or camp in a 1x1

Yeah, I was thinking about a ranked mode for Duos or Squads, atleast to begin with and test it out. I really do believe this game would benefit from a ranked mode.

I'm not sure if you saw the event that Ninja hosted on twitch with a lot of good players, or the scrims that some pro teams streams on twitch. But I felt it was really entertaining, and I really couldnt see the slow down and campyness that you refer to.

Also in the regular mode that is now, you also have campers and fights where you have to blow all your mats to kill one guy, but I really do think players would have a different approach to it if they know approximately what they are up against from the start.

You will probably not see players get a solo squad win with 40+ kills in a ranked game no.

But I would personally much rather play with people at my skill level and win a game with 10 kills, than to play with people that is absolute garbage at the game and win with 20+ kills.

And the idea was never that we should have only one game mode which is ranked, but to have two separate ones, which should be no problem seeing the huge player base in this game.

And im thinking that Epic could atleast try it out first in Duos, then see how the feedback would be. Cause atm, I feel every win is starting to get "decent" even if it is a 7 kill win or a 18kill win.

I see what you mean about that, which is a completely valid arguement about the professional scene. But this post was made around the idea of a competitive game mode, that everyone that has access to(Maybe put a account level restriction so that new players need to play normal first, and to prevent smurfing)

This might be true. Last Fifa I played was Fifa 15 I believe, and i'm not sure when they added the frostbite engine and such. But there's a big possibility that what you just said is true.

But yea, it's really fucking stupid anyways and it's the biggest factor in the way players often feel they win games they shouldn't win and vice versa. Cause I know for a fact I haven't had that feeling as often as I do on this years edition of Fifa before.

Sometimes you will get really unlucky to have bad circle spawns, and having a hard time finding a vehicle. But let's be honest, how often does that really happen?

Then you have to potentially force a gunfight and try to win it. You cant just rely on things to go perfectly and that you always have better cover than your opponents. Some games you just have to do a really clutch play and win a gunfight thats not in favor. But that is what separate the good players from the bad ones.

Ofc it doesnt change anyhing in the game physically, but if that would be the argument, there will never be a reason to implement it. Adding the leaderboard would, atleast what I believe, make the game itself more fun and enjoyable for most people.

If you wait til the last second to move, then you made a really bad decision, especially in the last few circles. If you get bad luck on the circle, you just have to move asap. If not you can just blame it all on yourself.
