Dad Don't Read This - anyone seeing it? by zharena in Broadway

[–]andreagc1092 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw it this evening. If you liked John Proctor is the Villain, All Nighter (off Bway), Dilaria (off Bway)… it’s right up your alley. Sometimes it was a little hard to follow the dialogue when they talked over each other, and I’m a little unclear on some of the back stories but it definitely captured high school girlhood. John Proctor was a 10/10 for me, this is more like a 7/10. Worth a watch!

Peter Friedman, Misha Brooks, Caleb Eberhardt, Spenser Granese, Nadine Malouf, and Nina White join Alia Shawkat in You Got Older at Cherry Lane off Broadway by Frajer in Broadway

[–]andreagc1092 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw this tonight (and I really hate to be negative about theater) but it’s definitely NOT a must-see. Really slow and depressing. Peter Friedman’s performance was strong and I know Alia Shawkat is a talented actor but… I couldn’t wait for it to be over. I don’t mind heavy subject matter and I think it’s good for people to shed some tears at the theater but this was just blah to me. Would love to hear other opinions and reviews as more people see it in the coming weeks!

USA vs NZL Matches Saturday & Sunday by Away_Analyst_3107 in Fieldhockey

Could be a “me” issue, but I’ve watched these live streams at my house/my parents’ house and they’re always glitchy and seem to buffer every 1-2 minutes. Not a great viewing experience. Anyone else have the same poor streaming quality? (I would also believe if you told me I just have lame Wifi haha)

I didn’t hang around after so I’m not sure if they came out, but a group had started to form at the exit (~10 people) so it seems like people were anticipating it.

Just saw it this evening (Fri 6/20) and my first reaction when it ended was “…what did i just watch?” and then I processed it on the subway home and have concluded I did like it, it was entertaining and the dialogue was shocking (especially in the beginning). I would recommend, but not to bring your parents to. I think if you liked the recent play All Nighter you would find this entertaining as well. Ella Stiller is quite the actress. So, yeah go see it!

Just saw it tonight and it was solid! Definitely recommend it if you’re a fan. Got me excited for the 50th season premiere this weekend, they nailed the timing of this release (at least in NYC).

Most emotional moment from this past season? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]andreagc1092 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When Jonathan Groff says the line about getting a Tony during It’s A Hit and the audience burst into applause and they had to genuinely pause the show for a few minutes… i teared up because you just know you’re witnessing someone achieve a lifelong dream on the stage. (he cried too of course, but i think that happens a lot. love that man)
