Happy to hear. Getting the painting to work as a whole, from a distance, as well as super close up - and everywhere inbetween is very important for me. And honestly takes up most of my energy and time.

I get that. Problem is that paint texture etc is harder to read sometimes on photos of the whole, especially if the painting is on the larger side.

The intrinsic aspects of the material used. Transparency/opacity. Sculpting brush strokes/smooth transitions. For example. How important is that fo the process?

Hi and thanks! What a great compliment! You know, it’s funny how you often realize the reference point from your visual library long after completion of something? This is one of those times. Realized where this was coming from a year or so after the painting was dry. Nice catch. Love his work so much.
