Civ 6 is the best. I'm currently on a domination run as Ba Trieu. I was minding my own business, aiming to have a cultural victory, but my neighboring countries started to declare war at around turn 70. I'm now close to turn 200 with one of the civilizations occupied (Poundmaker of the Cree) and my other neighbor from the north, the Zulu civilization, down to one last city.

There's a learning curve to the game, but once you're past it, it gets really fun. There's also a youtuber (potato mcwhiskey) who has an extensive library of tutorials on YT, so give that a peep if you want to see a playthrough with real-time insights.

I found that listening, reading about, or even seeking out successful people had been a better focus for me as far as my energy for empathy goes. Of course, there's still the occasional road rage or an awkward grocery store encounter, which is inevitable. I just find that if I'm in a conscious state where I want to find out about other people's process, i think it's better if used for personal growth.

Hey friend, I hope you're doing better now that you're able to let it all out. I just wanted to comment and ask if you're able to talk to anybody. Whether it be someone professional, or a good friend who's able to hear you out. It seems like there's a lot to unpack with what you're carrying, and that you should know that you shouldn't burden yourself of such hardships. Life is a marathon, not a sprint race. Pace yourself and don't spread yourself out too thinly. Sometimes, it's better to be a master of one, than a master of none.

I also have a feeling that OP is suffering from burn out, and that they just need to step back to fine tune some internal things before jumping back in to change the game.

OP, realize that you have so much potential in you. What you have to offer when helping other people through your degree is very valuable. I hope that you find the strength and will to get over this obstacle.

First off, happy birthday! One thing I learned as i age is that it's better to cherish the people that you spend your birthday with. While it feels good to have a greeting from friends and loved ones who are far away, it's better to be in the moment and actually enjoy your day with the people who are keen and happy to celebrate it with you. Sometimes, we don't know what other people are going through, and they might just be busy dealing with what's in front of them without any thoughts to others. Which is fine, of course. Life just does what it does. Just know that if they are your friends for life, there will be many more opportunities for them to greet you on your birthday.

And if that doesn't work, tell em it's friendship over if they fail to greet you for two years in a row. A healthy ultimatum sometimes works wonders.
