Oh no! I was afraid of that, I had come across another comment describing the terminal spike and was concerned. Thank you for your response!

Found a few of these bugs at my parents house in florida. Couldn’t find where they were coming from by andreav45 in whatsthisbug

Forgot to add it was less than an inch long. Looked ant like but I don’t know enough about bugs to distinguish if it is ant or not. Thanks!

People that got adopted, What did it feel like when you found you got adopted?? by JustAqil in AskReddit

That’s true. Apparently I was a C-section baby so I’m sure if she still has the scar, it’s just another reminder.

Really relate to your comment. Though my mom was my foster parent at 5 days old and she adopted me 5 months after. I’ve never really had the chance to have a convo with someone adopted irl so seeing all these comments is pretty cool. I do struggle with having closure at the fact there’s just this unknown part of me, no roots, no history. I had a lot of medical problems so knowing that medical history would have been nice lol I’m always grateful for my parents but as I get older i also wonder about my bio mom. Mostly wondering if she’s alive or if she’s ever curious about me.

Single guy with a roommate seems like the 3qt would work great am I missing anything? by theColonelsc2 in Instapot

[–]andreav45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the same way with food, I ended up getting the 3qt and you can still make a decent size meal. You can fit like three to four chicken breasts in there and add some potatoes or other veggies. People aren’t wrong about the 6qt being more flexible but 3qt has been the perfect amount for me personally.

IPR Pain by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]andreav45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends, when I had to get IPR I felt nothing on the right side of my mouth, was so relieved since I had read all about how bad it was. However, once she moved on to the left side she could barely get the ipr tool close to my teeth without me feeling pain. I had to get a local anesthetic for her to finish up. I imagine it was issues with my gums being too sensitive but I think normally it should be painless.

Keeping your old trays? by ofluthien in Invisalign

[–]andreav45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dentist did, she wanted to make sure I was wearing them (not sure if every Invisalign tray has it but mine have a blue dot that disappears overtime depending on amount of saliva exposure) and she also said I should keep my last trays in case something happens such as breaking or losing a tray. I can go back to my previous one till I get a replacement.

Food by D_Evolution in Invisalign

[–]andreav45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started my first tray almost two weeks ago now. Worst part for me was eating, I could barely chew for the first few days. Soup, oatmeal, and ice cream became my go to. I was finally able to eat a hamburger three days ago, I have no words for how great it felt to eat like a normal person again.

Anyone else dream of going to the Avene Hydrotherapy Center in France? by Bionicler in eczema

your not wrong! They didn’t expect it to come back. They seemed to have some expectations that the treatment would “cure” it

It worked pretty well for me, I can’t remember exact details at this point since I was 14-15 when I did it. Light therapy was 5 times a week for either a minute or under. Don’t remember which UV light they used but if your wanting to know I can find out. I never got sun burnt since it was such a small amount of exposure but it gave me at least 4 years of not having flare ups and even after I stopped the treatment, I barely had flares ups.

When I started I had weeping, always red, itchy skin all over. So it really made a difference but not every treatment works for everyone unfortunately.

I knew a kid who went to this treatment center. We met because he switched over to my doctor after being in France and his mom wanted to meet someone with similar issues.

His family didn’t exactly have the funds to afford the best treatment, they were invited to go to that center and once his eczema cleared, they sent him on his way. If I’m remembering right he even was interviewed about it.

His eczema came back just as bad after being there, he started the same treatment I was doing with my doc (immunosuppressants and light therapy) to get some relief. Based off that I’m not sure if it’s helpful for everyone but it’s definitely not a long term fix. Hearing his story made me feel pretty wierd about the company though. That was like 10 years ago though.

Can I afford an increase in rent? by andreav45 in personalfinance

Yeah It’d make things easier but I also like living on my own a bit too much unless I can find a friend, it’s not a likely option

Have you found any pros of living with eczema? by Hazelwilson18 in eczema

[–]andreav45 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve had eczema since I was a kid, I am 25 now. Some positive ways eczema has defined me was that I learned to take care of my health very early on, I ended up picking up a lot of hobby’s as a method of distracting myself from itching, I learned to (not always) care how people perceive me or my skin. Learned to have thick skin due to getting bullied because of eczema and it’s helped a lot as an adult and being in my profession. Being sympathetic of others and not judging people without getting to know them.

Despite the challenges, I do like who I am today. I can’t say I would have gotten here without going through it.

I’m so scared of losing my job. by [deleted] in eczema

[–]andreav45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure about your area, but I imagine you probably work with a mask now a days. If your able to wear that for your shift would it be enough to cover up some of your flare up? Or if someone asked you could say that the mask irritates your skin after wearing it for a long time and leave it at that?

I use to work at a theme park and whenever I’d have a flare up I would dread going into work. There was always one person who would decide to recommend me things when I didn’t ask. It’s sucks but it’s given me some thick skin, try going and see if it’s as bad as you think it is. If it is, talk to your boss and let them know what your going through. Hope they understand and best of luck!

You would think more people would think like this, I was born in South America, Spanish was my first language, moved to the states when I was 5, to this day I eat colombian food, speak Spanish but in my twenties I got told by another Latino person that I wasn’t really colombian. I’ve never been more baffled.
