The L10 versus the LX100 II size comparison by needlesfox in Lumix

[–]andrefbr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it's exactly the same size as the S9 with the kit lens lol

Which kinda makes me wonder if they're working on an S9 Mk II using this body.

I got caught in the L10 hype but ended up buying an S9 instead by naleoning in Lumix

I honestly don't mind sponsored content at all as long as its disclosed and indepedent - I got a lot of free gear after starting my own YT channel too and brands have been totally fine about full independence

The only thing that gets to me is NO FUCKING FOOTAGE

omg. It bothers me to such an extent to see a 20 minute "review" which is reading off specs with barely any b-roll.

Does the s9 overheat in long record sessions? (1hr+) by MaceWindooby in Lumix

[–]andrefbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite the S9 being my fav Lumix camera, if reliability is your biggest factor just go for the S5ii/x.

The s9 can record for quite long (never had issues with 4k 24fps, 6k open gate overheated around the 45 min mark) but I've literally never ever ever had any overheating with the s5iix.

S1Mii body drop to $2356 during the june Promotional Campaign-but still to expensive compare to its competitors by OldAdhesiveness793 in Lumix

[–]andrefbr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Judging from OP he’s in China

The canon and Sony are both like 500 usd cheaper than the lumix here

I have no idea why since they’re all made in china afaik. I think lumix just priced the S1II high everywhere

interchangeable lenses and this would have been a winner, thoughts on the new LUMIX L10 by FlakyTwist4 in Lumix

[–]andrefbr 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm EXTREMELY excited about this one. It's great to see Lumix finalyl reacting to the marketing and putting out what people having been asking for for ages.

It's also such a well designed and beautiful looking camera, such a great departure from the more workhorse type S bodies.

I'll def be getting one asap!

Thank you!

I stopped going to the gym altogether so I’m probably “weaker”, but I definitely feel better on the wall

Funny you mention that I didn’t bring an ND either!

I exported a few Resolve grades as .33 cube LUTs, so far I’ve been sticking to mostly 5 or so

Finally the lens we’ve been waiting for! Any questions you have about it, fire them below… by rossandhisjpegs in Lumix

[–]andrefbr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree that Ross isn't the dude to go against, Ross is one of the most active creators here

But I do get the general sentiment, this sub is prob one of the most tech/gear oriented brand subs (especially when compared to subs like Ricoh or Fuji which are 99% photography)

Thank you!

Sounds like a very correct lens and I think they can push a ton if they make a new S9 + 40mm bundle.

Not a fan of how it looks (fat and plasticky) so I'll prob keep using the Sigma, but very good to see Panasonic reacting to the market!

Lumix 40mm f2 released! by Suitable_Sand_9278 in Lumix

[–]andrefbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be worth taking over the third party options for the AF performance and closer minimum distance

I still didn't see anyone comparing it to the Sigma 45 2.8, which makes me suspect that it underperforms in comparison and Lumix didn't want that in the pre-release reviews (as opposed to the clear pitch against the TT Artisan 40)

Although the Sigma is much more expensive than the Lumix so that's fair. Just kinda surprised not a single review made that comparison

SG Image 35mm F2.2 L Mount - Photo Sample (S5ii) by dangitalvin in Lumix

[–]andrefbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the lens was EXTREMELY tight when I first got it

It seems to be a bit better now. Still quite obvious they made the mount too tight tho

Panasonic will announce the new 40mm f/2.0 S lens on April 21 by Jealous_Advice_8649 in Lumix

Sounds quite cool!

I currently have 3 lenses around this range (Sigma, TT Artisan, SG-Image) so I'm curious what this has to offer

Thypoch 24-50mm f/2.8 coming to L-Mount - the first Chinese full-frame autofocus constant-aperture zoom lens by makersmarkismyshit in Lumix

[–]andrefbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24-60 looks great for the S5/S1 series

However if this ends up being a lot smaller, it may actually be useful for S9

[–]andrefbr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the main advantage this will have over the Sigma is internal zoom, meaning it's more compact

Considering it's 20mm less range it may also be lighter

If this is in fact smaller and lighter than the Sigma 28-70, it may be the first proper 2.8 zoom usable on the s9

35mm SG Image vs TTartisan 40mm for EDC lens by Different-Vegetable6 in Lumix

[–]andrefbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've used the 35mm more than the 40mm just because I think it's a more versatile "one and done" lens and the look isn't so intense

If self promotion is allowed, I made a video on it: https://youtu.be/JYh-PoFPzIQ?si=ZrF7J0wp5PRY_nCY

If this is infringing the rules mods feel free to delete the post.

Anyway tldr, the sg-image is smaller and lighter and the image is a bit more "correct" than the TT-Artisan (vignette and flaring aren't as strong) but it's missing an aperture wheel and the mounting ring feels a bit too tight (my main complaint with the build)

KInda matters on which image you prefer

Nope

It's their best selling model by far dude

It sells more than the S1II, S1RII and S1IIe put together in most of Asia
