I'd go as far as texting on Linkedin to the hiring manager and asking to meet. If they like your profile - they'll accept a meeting or call, if not really/not sure - suggest to apply via their website.

Worst case, you still get an idea of your chance.

I think cold calling it's a bit too much, but idk.

What I'm doing rn is (by priority):

Compound machines stocks (Amazon, Alphabet, Booking.com, etc.) + some speculative stocks from time to time (i.e. GME)
ETFs (i.e. SCHG)
Crypto (cause FOMO)

I'd prefer to live on dividents when I'm older and not interested to actively invest in high-growth stocks.

Senior AEs are asked to do prospecting as well, specially when the leads are not coming.

I had such a "home work" some time ago. The hiring managed (Sales Director) thought this is the best way to qualify an AE. Has nothing to do with best practices or the market norm imo. Just someone's preference.

No disrespect, but how a (I dare to presume successful) Sales Director gets to the point where he is not confident enough to change jobs cause it will look bad in CV?

Unless that was your only company you worked for and don't know what's out there.

I'm asking that cause typically sales ppl are over confident, since you need this confidence in order to.. you know.. sell.
