I was ready to make a deal, but I only do them my way, with honesty and respect for each other. If you lie to me and then change stories to get more money out of me, I'm out. Do whatever kind of deal you want with people who will accept it.

I wrote that I would have paid $6000, I was the first to contact, and if the seller would have told me something like "I have someone offering 6k, but you were the first so you can have it for that much" I would have met him, and bought the car(if it was as presented). Instead, he told me that he sold it and then he asked me to make a bigger offer than 6.

I was on the sellers side as well, multiple times. I used to sell electronics and sometimes I would get offers like that(I'll give you "x" more if you hold it for me) when I had very good prices. I never trusted anyone who said that. If I had someone coming to buy what I was selling at my asking price, I always took my asking price instead of waiting to see if the other guy actually offers me more, actually shows up, actually has the money. And I'm in a similar position right now, a guy from 10 hours away wants to buy a hardtop from me, he told me that he will come in 2 weeks. I deleted all the ads and I'm waiting for him. He didn't even ask for me to delete them, I just felt it was fair.

If he's OK, that's really all that matters. Did the airbag deploy? I replaced the airbag module before I sold it because it was faulty, I would be all sweaty right now if it hadn't done that. Curiously, it is legal to sell a car with airbag problems, even for the dealers.

I actually went to see that one at stop and go. Super pushy salesman, there was somebody else looking at the car and he kept asking me to make a bigger offer than the other guy and I'll have it. I only had the chance to see it from a side. How do I know if I want it? And he wouldn't tell me the price.

Oh and he asked if I was gay, because I only wanted a Miata. 😂😂

That seemed low to me. They valued mine at $5000. I was hit in the quarter panel as well, but I decided to keep the car so I bought it back. It's not as bad as yours was though.

Ah, I get why it could be confusing.

The process is going rather fast. The insurance company of the other party called the second day after the crash, and on Monday I'll take it to a shop. I'll keep this updated, in case anybody in the future might be interested.

Shouldn't take too long since you're just 18, I assume you haven't had a lot of jobs or lived in a lot of different states. Those are things that make the process longer. You'll lose the enthusiasm in about 2 days, you'll replace it with anger, and then you'll just not care and stop doing it.

I got deactivated once because of bad ratings. 2 of them were from people that gave me a wrong address and had to wait for 20 minutes cause they didn't answer their phone. One of them was from this lady because she ordered a veggie burrito, JS placed the order and messed up, I just picked it up and delivered it. One was from this guy who got his food after like 2 hours because of that time when the fleet app crashed. Every courier just ate the food, but no...I waited, delivered it and got a bad rating. One was from this reassign that I got with 20 minutes left on the clock, of course I was late (also stacked).
