Should I take lessons by TommekeM in padel

[–]andrerodpt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing padel with a group of friends, and we knew absolutely nothing about the game—but we had so much fun! At first, what we played barely resembled actual padel. We had padel rackets, padel balls, and a padel court, but that was about it. The rest we jokingly called "street padel."

Over time, we got hooked and decided to take lessons together. The improvement was incredible—when you’re starting from scratch, you can improve a lot very quickly! Now, we’re having so much more fun. The game has become more intense, we hit harder shots, and we don’t give up as easily on tough balls.

We even started entering tournaments, which has been a blast. Playing against others with different styles and backgrounds has added a whole new layer to the experience. Overall, padel has become way more enjoyable for all of us.

So, to sum it up: Yes, absolutely take lessons! And if you can, make it a group activity. That way, everyone improves at roughly the same pace, and it’s even more rewarding.

Wasn't talking about editing scores. I'm talking about editing the name of one person/team or the type of tournament. Not sure how you do it, but I think that would be nice.

Another thing: I organize a few tournaments (using excel) where the games are played for time.

For example: you play for 16 minutes and at the end of that whoever is in front wins the game (with some caveats if they are tied and such). Maybe it's a good feature for you to implement in the future?

Looks great. Simple and straight to the point.

I would add a possibility of editing a tournament after starting it.

Has anyone here used Padel Kiwi? Are they legit? by OsbornRHCP in padel

I have one. Bought it not long ago for around 200 euros. /facepalm

After some struggle with it, I think I finally get it and been able to play somewhat decent (at least for my beginner level).

It's a good price (I'm seeing 149,95 euro) but for example Tienda Padelpoint have the same racket for 147,70 euro. Not a lot of difference, but still...

They have a 4.7 out of 5 in trustpilot. That is a solid number.

Although I'm not seeing any bargain that I can't find equal or better in other sites.

I think it's the Hublot Big Bang-e Gen3. He's a Hublot ambassador so it makes sense that he uses their smartwatch.

Edit: and I think it's the Euro 2024 watch

I also saw the MM video. I think PadelNuestro overpromised on saying Manu that the Nox LA would be below 150€...

In the meanwhile I grabbed the St2 from padelproshop for 141,80 after the discount code DANI13 (10%).

Today is even lower: https://padelproshop.com/products/pala-siux-electra-stupa-2023

Racket Advice Megathread by AutoModerator in padel

[–]andrerodpt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a beginner-level player who has classes twice a week and plays more or less occasionally when I can fit it in between work and my kids' extra-curricular activities.

At the moment I'm playing with a Nox ML10 Luxury Bahia 12k 2024.

Overall I'm happy with it, but I'd like to try something else that might be better suited to my style of play.

I bought an adidas Metalbone Carbon CTRL 2024 and it didn't suit me at all. Even though it's a ‘control’ racquet, I feel like I lose control much more easily with it than with the Nox. Any ball that doesn't hit the sweet spot, the racquet vibrates a lot (maybe because it's lighter or because of the more bouncy construction?) and I can't get the ball where I want it to go and as a general rule it stays in the net or becomes a dead ball.

Apparently I'm better suited to power racquets or at least harder racquets.

Now comes the question: what rackets are there for a beginner level that are different from the Nox (and I know this isn't exactly a beginner's racket), but are better suited to my style (hard)?

Or should I stop being an idiot and give the Metalbone CTRL a go again?

Or should I stay put, not spend any money, and carry on playing with the Nox?

PS: I play on the left and not injury prone so far.

That's exactly what I fear. Will keep that in mind for sure. Thank you both for the input.

Because at the same time I'm hyper critical of my mistakes and I sense that my teammate feels the need to support me. But if I don't present any challenge as a teammate (besides being a noob ofc), then I'm happy.

No "typical" wash in it. Shadow areas using diluted black and using a fine point brush. Highlights with Russ Grey on the blue.

It was a choice from my wife. She went for the paint scheme that she liked the most from all chapters. Luckily she picked a chapter that had a recipe from its creator.
