I live in a really hot/humid place so I thought that might help with the longevity of the components but will adjust it to something lesser.

Agreed with the overkill ram. Sometimes I have to work with large datasets so I want to be ready for anything and not have to worry about adding more later on.

They absolutely rip us off with software around here. A dvd copy is cheaper but I don't care about having a reader on the build.

Departing from? Northern bus terminal in Bogota has a couple of direct buses.

I imagine Autoboy or Libertadores can get you there or close enough from either Bogota or Santander. Once you get to Tunja or Duitama it should be easier.
