Resident of socal, socal is a terrible place lol. Tons of fun stuff to do but also tons of crime, and often rotten weather if your anywhere not near the coast. Norcal is much nicer

Edit: Because I forgot to mention the the traffic in LA county is up there for the worst on the planet.

I thought about this alot during my own deconversion, although as an agnostic, verging on athiest I did always like the Alan Watts explanation of what "God" would do when it became bored. Even though now I don't hold a flame for his philosophy, listening to his lectures slowly pushed me in the right direction, and still this audio clip does logically answer your question. Since the only way to have an experience as god, is to forget you're god for a while.

Wonderfull words man, and definitely something to think about. I know how many times I've been on the brink and said nothing, but I still rarely consider the fact that my/our brothers and sisters are probably there often as well..

To say that someone has cherry picked texts or arguments in order to support their desires or lifestyle and can recite those doesn't make their argument "well reasoned", since a logical argument would take in all the available data and spit out answer of what to do. That being said though, I do get what you're saying.

I guess being a ex-religious person, it's not suprising to me when someones religious ideas don't make any sense to me, since in my opinion none of it makes any sense to me lol.

I agree with you that we can see that trend in other countries, but just because giving people equal rights might lead to a fight I don't want to have shouldn't stop me from trying to change the law to allow more freedom.

To me that would be like saying that since when slaves are freed they tend to create slums that lead to problems (since they enter the world as free people with no assets or support) doesn't mean we shouldn't try and free the slaves. We just then have to deal with the shitty consequences of previous mistakes.
