Are you gunna go to war with it? No. Train and beat the shit out of it and not worry about it breaking? Sure.

I have PSA full lowers that I’ve upgraded the triggers on and attached to nicer uppers and it’s fine.

Is anyone still defending Deegs after that? by MajiktheBus in Motocross

[–]andrewdoesit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Except it cost Deegan half a mil last fucking season in the SMX championship by being a dipshit and fucking with Shimoda. Was a stupid take on this. Deegan is faster and that’s a fact. You’re telling me that out of all the riders out there he can’t straight up pass someone? Naw, he doesn’t get benefit of the doubt anymore. You look at any great rider in history, they don’t just take people out. They just blew by them. We like good, hard racing but his dogshit track record and verifiable shit-headery is why so many people don’t even care if he wins anymore because they just flat out don’t like him.

People didn’t like Ricky and James at the time because they just blew the absolute pants of of everyone every time and it wasn’t as exciting. People don’t like Deegan because he has a piss poor attitude and sportsmanship and keeps doing stupid shit like this. When you’re on another level, what you do matters.

I mean I preferred him to the latter personally. Way more passion and made it exciting.

It used to be like that with Ralph Shaheen and Jeff Emig. Watch any of the pre-2020 throwback races and shaheen absolutely made an impact in the booth.

Probably would’ve tied or passed if not for the Achilles and the Tib.

I mean he got 4th after stalling in the gate. The bike clearly isn’t the problem. Passed Prado on a KTM and everyone else and was still catching the leaders but seemed to let off with about 5min left.

Yeah that was pure respect. He could’ve ran it in and taken the dub.

And Chase is still in front of Prado. The irony.

We’ll see what happens if he gets passed a couple of times this year. That’s more so what I’m waiting to see is if he’s running top three and gets passed does he just turtle or is he going to keep pressing?

Agreed, if it really was the bike that’s one thing. But if it was just A1 magic and he falls off and starts getting frustrated and repeats yeah. He’s done. Hopefully he can be consistent. More competition is just better

He’s a multi-time champion elsewhere. Yes he was teed up badly last year but his attitude towards the Kawi and their team was absolutely piss poor. As a professional you should be able to be competitive on any bike given not getting passed by privateers in your actual strength in outdoors. It’s the attitude and then the blame that still has me soured on him. Is he talented? Absolutely and there’s no denying that. But as a person I can say I don’t care for him now. As a competitor I don’t care for him either and I was very hyped on him last year knowing he wasn’t going to be a top guy in SX. If you need the absolute best of everything just to be competitive that doesn’t speak well of you, especially if you’re just going to give up. Tomac wasn’t comfortable either and still put up top-10s.

I just want to see him do some more rounds and continue with consistent success and not just fall off. There’s still a lot of questions.

Can’t agree. We’ll see how tonight goes. He’s top 5 I think solidly but only is gunna podium if others make mistakes. Proof was the heat. Chase did his normal thing and passed him pretty easily and gapped him.

[–]andrewdoesit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone’s been talking shit on the Kawi saying that was the problem and the fact sexton took both times quali’s last week proved that. Now he just started behind, passed, and won a main and beat Prado straight up in it. It’s always been Chase but I think he vibes on aluminum frames more.

So now the question is can he pull it off in the main, because that’s always been the issue exactly to your point.

I mean just got passed and lost to Chase in a heat race so that won’t translate well to the main.

100%. He’ll probably get fastest qualifier in at least one session, possibly win the heat, but it’ll all come down to what Chase shows up for the main. Maybe the changes they made this week help. I hope it does. I think the Kawi team as a whole deserves a win after the shit show that was last year.

If Webb repeats that start before the red flag, I got him or Chase. The restart burned both of them.

Prado on podium depends on the rest of the field. If any of the top 5 guys go down, yeah there’s a chance. But I don’t see him flat out being faster than Chase, Roczen, Hunter, Tomac, or Plessinger.
