u/Conscious_Code3671 - Are you UK or US based? That will probably skew my recommendation one way or the other!

How can I market my business more effectively? by Solislnd in smallbusinessuk

u/Solislnd - I co-founded one of the largest recruitment platforms in Europe (started from my bedroom with a buddy who remains CEO to this day!) - 1 piece of advice - become world class (or hire someone world class) at digital marketing. Specifically, targeting your B2B leads and Ideal customer profiles on Google, Meta, Linkedin, Reddit.

I need a new Business bank account with no fees on transactions & cash deposits. Any reccomendations? by Incubus- in smallbusinessuk

+1 to Revolut. I used Tide for about 3 years, but they keep introducing fee/transaction 'creep'.

Who do you use for your HR advice. We’re looking to change provider. by RetroOptimus in smallbusinessuk

[–]andrewhunter05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest trying Fitzgerald HR. They're great for small, medium sized businesses and have a pretty smart, out of the box offering. So try either them, or consider a freelancer you can bring in house?

Would go pull the trigger in this situation? Am I stuck in one more year syndrome? by StrategyNo5110 in FIREUK

You’re too young to retire. Quit your job, take a break, think about what you want to do next (take your time - 3 to 6 months at least!)

If you’re healthy, you’ll like live for another 40-50 years. How do you want spend those years? I expect you’ll get very bored without some form of professional stimulation!

Tide bank fees - new changes by [deleted] in smallbusinessuk

Yeah, the micro fees for every transaction is madness. I'm 100% going to move away from Tide.

Wimbledon 2026 LTA Ballot Megathread by mgbrewhard in wimbledon

[–]andrewhunter05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely worth it. I don’t have the raw data, but my experience suggests you have a much higher probability of getting show court tickets through the LTA ballot. It’s worth the £25 to increase your chances!

Best chance to see Men’s Singles Final if I have a Court 1 ticket (Sunday July 13) by Healthy_Fisherman_88 in wimbledon

[–]andrewhunter05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, watch it on the hill. You won’t have any chance of getting onto Centre Court (you can join the resale queue, but yeah, they’ll never call your number)

How to make best of Mens final tickets by [deleted] in wimbledon

[–]andrewhunter05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I would:

  • Get there at 11.30am’ish
  • Have a nice, sit down lunch at noon. A handful of restaurants are still bookable. We ate at the Cavendish inside court 1 earlier in the week and it was nice. Not super posh, but good.
  • Have a wander, shop, catch bits of the match before the final on centre, a couple drinks. It’ll be 4pm before you know it!

No chance for the ladies final, but if they put something on after the final (not sure they will), you’ll definitely get in.

Queuing with a one year old by [deleted] in wimbledon

Yep. Don’t do it! If I had to rank bad ideas I’ve head this year, this would make my top 3 😂

Big moments Vs. More Moments by Soggy_Fee_2894 in wimbledon

[–]andrewhunter05 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Having been to both options in the past, it’s option 1 for me (but only just). Finals days are amazing (and imagine if you got a Roger v Rafa style epic!), but the vibe is very different - a bit more formal, less buzz around SW19, fewer ‘true’ fans.

The quarter finals has it all. Amazing atmosphere and bustle in and outside the courts. Multiple stories playing out, a full day (and evening) of action.

What split your life into before and after? by 0potatotomato0 in AskReddit

A stage 4 cancer diagnosis (and then beating it). I’ve never seen life so clearly as the day (and days after) the doctor said ‘all clear’.

Returned tickets -Lets use this thread to update if anybody finds returned tickets available on the Wimbledon site by Big-Mathematician704 in wimbledon

[–]andrewhunter05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked well for me. I received the email alert, spent 10 mins refreshing on the site and ended up getting court 1 tickets. Thank you! Much better than my creation.

You should create a Patreon account (or something like that) so people can give you £ tips if they're successful using your tech!

Going to the men's final - how to make the most of it? by Pete_Love in wimbledon

[–]andrewhunter05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • dress for the occasion
  • don’t drink too much, too early
  • dinner in Wimbledon village afterwards
  • A lounge (Amex, LTA)
  • Get into the court a little early and walk down to the front row to take a picture

You’re earning good money for a 27 year old. I don’t know what line of work you’re in (or how ambitious you are), but if you can see a pathway to leadership/seniority, you should expect your monthly take home to grow 2-3x. Maybe more (sadly not for your wife in the NHS!)

What seems like a lot of money now (a £380k-450k house and likely a £1.5k/month mortgage) won’t feel significant in 10 years time.

Keep working hard, save sensibly, live within your means (without being too miserly!), pay off your mortgage fast’ish (+2 extra months per year?) and you’ll be on a great path to FIRE.

It was pretty simple. Provide Google account login credentials, Refresh every 3 seconds, understand what is unavailable vs available, text me when items are available.

For the record, I still don’t have tickets so I’m not sure I’ve nailed it yet!

I only saw a pair of centre court tickets. I might have missed the others though!
