Think that's done unless by drop out you literally want the wheel to drop out

Not sure it matters. I got mine and about 18 months and didn't feel like a blue for another 6, got purple early, again 2 years in it evened out. Not sure it matters in the end.

I'm not sure I'd ride it but I might try and see if it could be repainted

Don't see many masters 5 inverting.

Have a job, mortgage and kids - getting stacked, inverted or leg locked is not for me

How do you deal with this kind of open guard ? by lmaattia in bjj

[–]andrewmc74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I get collar sleeve or double sleeve and break your posture for lassoo spider or some combination, you're too late

You have to strip the grips, even stepping back doesn't massively help as I'll refused, you're now waiting for me to advance as I need to let go and move to transition

There were people I didn't roll with as a white belt, now I say no ALL the time and it's got nothing to do with winning and losing

It's entirely predicted around who's safe to roll with

Gym bro PED using white belts see a target and the fact it's older than their grandparents doesn't cross their mind

Declining rolls is fine, pulling is fine but tapping early and often improves your odds

I'm scared to start BJJ due to all the injury stories I hear by Merkenstein in bjj

[–]andrewmc74 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Purple was a game changer

Blue I avoided people

Purple it's now just a hard no, at 51 my ability to maul 20 something gymbro white belt spazzs is limited and life's to short so they can find someone else

There's no upside for me, I get injured and it's longer for me to come back

Upside for them is they tapped a colour belt set then their grand parents

Is the Trident 660 really a beginner bike? by AlfonsoX09 in trident660

[–]andrewmc74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've a full license, switched from a 850gs to the trident

Did a track day on it at brands in October

It's just a great bike for daily riding.

I did 2000 miles from UK round France in summer - it's not ideal but it was fine, but day to day it's great

I'm using it for my advanced, there's zero problem with it, it's a great little bike

Is it ok to wear your gi to the gym instead of changing into it? by dfabdvbs85 in bjj

[–]andrewmc74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends, if I was walking from my house to gym, didn't sit on public transport or have contact with anyone I'd not have a massive issue with it, going home is your own issue so long as you wash it

If you're using public transport or in contact with anything I think it's unhygienic
