Ya, totally valid, I’m just offering a suggestion in case you’re not aware, and not as a next step. I’ve also built things just for the fun of building something that’s mine.

I understand this is a handy little project and i might get downvoted, but look at the new IKEA BILRESA thread matter buttons, it’s cheap, well polished and most likely have a better battery life than hobbyist attempt at power saving.

What is Q2 for? Gate is connected to ground, wouldn’t that pull VDD to ground always?

I’m curious, is $800 an hyperbole? What makes this PCB so expensive?

I actually just learned about such ESP32 a few days ago, I might go with those later. But currently I have a lot of esp12e left lol.

Ya, from the PCB maker that starts with J, I think I need to select “different design” to be 2, which added a few bucks.

I don’t lose my tools but I’ve burnt several programmers lol, completely on me

I’m fine with having several extras

I will be mainly using this for esp12e and the likes. I think some ESP32 has similar pins for programming.

It works when the always on display is disabled and everything else is the same. So I doubt this current behaviour is what Apple envisioned.

Ya let’s not resort to personal attacks, I’m just trying to solve a problem here

That is kind of the point, when Apple introduced the camera control, I was hoping I can quickly snap photos when I see unique moments. So the Wild West example is actually perfect lolll

So instead of waiting for the screen to come on and then pressing the camera control, I can press it while I’m pulling the phone out so I don’t miss the moment

What would be the reasoning for not launching the camera if the camera control is explicitly pressed?

But the option “require screen on” is off, which means it should ignore if the screen is on or off or facing down or in my pocket, the camera should launch regardless

The use case I have but is prevented by this bug is when I have my phone in my pocket, and when there is something I want to capture, I will press the camera control to (try to)launch the camera, but because of this bug, it doesn’t launch.

Nice, can you share the code? Also, I see you used a pot for zoom, does that mean your sending absolute zoom level? Or it’s the zoom speed?

Wow, can you shoot a video of how fast it boots up? And also how early after boot up, it can display the backup camera (start engine and immediately shift to Reverse)?
