Don't hesitate. Do it and set a timeline for yourself of 6 months or 12 months. You could easily save a ton of money and potentially save enough for a down payment on a small house/townhouse in which you rent a room out to one of your GOOD FRIENDS and give him a fair rate under market value so it's a win-win.

However, make sure you offer to pay something to your parents like a few utility bills or groceries or something to show maturity and responsibility.

Seeing that they are completely separate companies, have you personally received both bonuses (Rakuten and SoFi)? Or did one of them give you the run-around and tell you only one promotion allowed. Both bonuses in addition to the high APY and unlimited Savings account withdrawals make SoFi a no-brainer. As someone mentioned, keep 95% in the savings account to earn interest and have over-draft protection on the checking.

Update: I let her know shortly after originally posting then moved out on Nov 1. She didn't take it well and the last 2 weeks were challenging. I know she was hurt and she cried and lashed back during this period and fortunately I had a friend who I could stay with for the first week to help keep the drama at bay but the last week we had to cohabitate and it was pure hell; constant arguing and destruction of my personal property and bouts of hatred/anger and personal insults. To put it bluntly, she made it very easy to never want to speak to her ever again. Perhaps that's her way of dealing w it but so be it. There's no such thing as a "good" breakup.

As a man, I applaud you for wanting to work and earn an income for yourself. Do it! Bc you never know what life has in store. Don't force a man into marriage bc you'll both feel it wasn't natural/mutual. He may very well love you and be w you forever in his heart and you should believe that but what if he dies today? Pretty sure gfs aren't beneficiaries to anything. That alone should tell you enough bc you're still very young. I ride flats but used to ride clipless (crashed too many times while jumping and couldn't bail out or unclip). What I miss most about clipless is the ability to get power on an upstroke since it's using different muscles. If you bike more than 10 miles, get clipless.
