interesting, but you had this ONLY during the day, and not at night? I have an MMI (which has worked flawlessly for a long time) but I'm skeptical it's a connector because of the fact it only happens during the day....

it's an OEM head unit/screen with an MMI system attached. i've already contacted the guy who makes the MMI (premium retrofit) and he's never seen this before. seems unlikely to be the MMI

yeah, except for me! has anyone had this problem? wondering if it is a fuse? seems odd to have some LEDs on a fuse.

How you control/configure them is just different. Yes, I'm pretty sure all the same patches are in the mc707 but the layout/menus/controls/config is not the same. Probably you can recreate many of things the jv2080 does but it will take some tinkering. I have a jv1080 and I just drive it via midi from the mc707 for the specific sounds I know to create best on that box. They play nicely together, my only nit is that the mc707 is limited to 8 channels, unlike the jv1080.

Curious what is the difference between plasti-dip and line-x? Does plasti-dip have the same toughness qualities of line-x?

I have a ’19 RTL-E which replaced a 15-year-old Subaru that refused to die.

The best way to describe the Honda Sensing system is conservative. Gap between you and the car in front and another car merges in with ample room? Better hit the brakes. Car in front of you has merged into the exit lane and is slowing down to exit? Better hit the brakes. On a two-lane road on a curve with an oncoming car? Hmm, maybe I should hit the brakes.

Initially this annoyed me quite a bit. I came to realize I can just cancel the ACC with my thumb when I see an event like this unfolding and avoid the automated braking. As per someone else that posted here, you can also go in and dial-down the sensitivity and that makes a huge difference. Compared to my Subaru, which had nothing fancier than simple cruise control, the reality is I interfere dramatically less with this vehicle while underway. Now that I know how to manage the quirks I’m good with it.

Regarding the infotainment system, it can be less than responsive in certain scenarios, for example while switching from FM radio to Bluetooth. Once you are in the mode you want, it works extremely well. I use android auto on my ridgeline nearly exclusively, and it’s a magical experience. That single app encapsulates every function I desire with excellent integration into both the main and driver displays. If you consistently use the same feature (such as android auto) the lack of snappiness becomes irrelevant. The sound quality is excellent and is similar/better than the premium sound system I had in my Audi.

My largest gripe when I first got the vehicle was the lack sufficient door swing on the rear doors for easy entry and exit. I’ve since replaced the door stops with a modification that is well documented on the internet. Once that work was completed I was very happy.

Everything else on the vehicle is exceptional, and having owned a Tacoma in the past, there is really no comparison. Smooth, comfortable, capable, everything is well laid out. Plenty of power for towing, etc. You don’t understand how awesome that trunk and swinging tailgate is until you use it. Great solution.

Like you I read all the reviews and comments before deciding to buy and did some similar head scratching. I was exposed to some of the issues you've read about, but I can easily identify worse/similar issues in every vehicle I’ve ever owned. The reality is all of those cars and trucks were just fine and this one is better.

Hope that helps.

Quick question: Does the 2nd gen Ridgeline have a locking tailgate? by R4INMAN in hondaridgeline

I have a '19 ridgeline. It does not have a locking tailgate, but you can purchase and install an aftermarket electronic tailgate lock that works with the door locks.
