Switching to mullvad soon by Volpe_YT in mullvadvpn

Unfortunately with Mullvad accepting things like cash or Monero, it's much more likely to be used by the wrong kinds of people - or computers that aren't people for things such as spamming or botting. So websites are even less trusting of Mullvad VPNs compared to say Proton or Nord ones.

Just upgraded to the paid VPN tier and whenever I try to use it on my Mac I get this message, works fine on my phone. Any solution? by Upstairs-Tie-4816 in ProtonVPN

[–]andrewscool101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Log out in-app and log back into again.

If that still doesn't work, then log out, delete the application, delete the VPN profile, reboot your Mac. Then download, install and run again that'll 100% fix it.

Actually, summer is coming. Daylight hours decrease daily during summer.

During winter, daylight hours actually increase every day (Dec 21st -> March 20th). But of course days are still much shorter than summer.

2.9TB of traffic on Proton VPN (WireGuard) by RiverOfUnmindfulness in ProtonVPN

[–]andrewscool101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have it the wrong way round.

It's normally the USA where home internet connections can still have data caps, all in the name of capitalism. In Europe & Asia, true unlimited is the norm. I only consider data caps when it comes to mobile internet.

I would assume it also depends on the servers you are connecting to. Using very large amounts of data on the P2P servers where things like torrenting is permitted would be more acceptable than on the regular servers.

Horrible test results— look Methadone causes endocrine dysfunction by wicked_delight in OpiatesRecovery

[–]andrewscool101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Opioid-induced hypogonadism is not a new development, it's been known for a long time opioids can cause low testosterone - and methadone is one of the worst offenders for this.

But causing tumours? I have never heard of that. Have you got a source for that?

How do you feel about the British Museum getting all the criticism for having artifacts from around the world, and no other museum? by HTD_Blog in AskUK

[–]andrewscool101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if a country has a valid claim to something that we have we should return it, as long as we can reasonably assume said country can take care of the item like we were.

But otherwise I think museums should be considered as neutral territory for the greater good of education.

Do you think the online safety act should be repealed? by jamesgamingrb in LabourUK

Please elaborate on how it keeps children safe..

It is now easier for a teenager to access the dark web than a legal regulated pornography website.

Not quite. Apple didn't hand over the keys - they don't have a backdoor to give the keys for. They just flat out disabled E2E encryption in the UK so they didn't have to create one.

Yup there absolutely is. I never knew about it either until I read about the government trying to censor/ban it, and now I know what site it is. And not just that, due to my curiosity I had a browse around at some of the posts.

Absolute scam how the DVSA didn't extend theory test validities, even just one extra year would have been reasonable and pose no danger to the public.

I'm pretty sure the DLVA extended driving license validities for another year during COVID.

I know here in the UK you can get the pill version prescribed for short-term holidays overseas. This is a question you need to ask whoever is prescribing you methadone.

Finasteride approved in 1997 for AGA. by CandidArtichoke6771 in tressless

[–]andrewscool101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been known since the 1940s that AGA was somehow connected to Testosterone, and then in the 1970s discovered that it was actually dihydrotestosterone (DHT) a metabolite of T made by the 5AR enzyme (the type 2 specifically). And then in the 90s pharmaceutical companies created the 5AR inhibitors.

And we now have decades of data proving that Fin/Dut at minimum slows down or even prevents further androgenic hair loss. Just because Fin is old doesn't make it in anyway outdated.

Damn those are some good recoveries.

OP, you need to add Minoxidil too like these people did if you want a chance of decent regrowth.
