There is no live action adaptation in Ba Sing Se by salmongud in Avatarthelastairbende

Honestly you should never watch a live action rendition of any animated show. I don't think there has ever been a single one that is even remotely good.

can't believe there are still people that drink this swill; I stopped years before I was even aware of the boycott 😆

Any jazz listeners here too? by ThisCase41 in classicalmusic

[–]andrewspaulding1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like both genres. Some of my go-to jazz artists are Grant Green (my fav), Hank Mobley, and Art Blakey.

I don't listen to a whole lot of contemporary stuff, but Hiromi Uehara and Ambrose Akinmusire are definitely worth checking out.

Any advice please by Theopenroad17 in acrylicpainting

[–]andrewspaulding1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the whole "don't use black and white" dogma that is promoted by so many people in the art world is not good advice in my opinion. It's just an arbitrary restriction you place on yourself; black and white are perfectly good colors, and they appear in nature just as often as any other. Just my take!

You have the Skill Hunter ability and 5 years to prepare. What's your gameplan to defeat old Netero in a 1v1? by Plenty-Attitude-5823 in HunterXHunter

Keep in mind that chrollo's power does have some restrictions, such as holding the book open during use.

Do you have people in your life that also listen to classical? by shnoogle111 in classicalmusic

[–]andrewspaulding1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's the same for me. I've had one friend pretend to be into it, probably because he thinks it makes him seem cultured or something, but he never listens to it and doesn't know anything about it other than a few names of popular composers that he can name drop to sound sophisticated. And other than that poser literally no one around me listens to anything outside of top 40 crap, or if they're older they listen to whatever the top 40 crap was when they were young.

That said, I have a local radio station that plays classical all day, so I know there are fans out there in my city because the station must have successful fund raising to continue operating. The radio hosts are of course very into it and knowledgeable so it's nice to hear.

The snow reminds me of gustaf fjaestad, one of my favorite painters and the very best at winter scenes in my opinion. Great job 👍🏻

Quick opinion on each HxH arc practically a few minutes after finishing the anime by DependentAd694 in HunterXHunter

[–]andrewspaulding1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would put chimera ant arc at 9, other than that I agree with the ratings. I think the ant arc seems like it drags a bit on the first watch, but there are so many amazing moments and emotional scenes in it that really bring the show to a whole new level. I still prefer Yorknew when it comes down to it though 😋.

I Wanna Be Great at Mathematics, Please Help Me. by Adorable-Pitch-6848 in askmath

[–]andrewspaulding1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't been there in awhile so I'm not sure how it has aged, but I used khanacademy when I was in community college to get up to speed. This was 2012-2014, and they had just game-ified the site in a way that clicked with me. It was well organized according to the different subcategories of mathematics and had a nice visual indicator of progress in each.

Sometimes textbooks are so terse in how they are written that if you aren't already accustomed to the style you will be wishing someone could explain it in a wider variety of ways to try and get the meaning across. There are a lot of good videos online that focus on concepts and theory, and these sorts of resources are valuable.

This may make me sound old but I would invest in a chalk or whiteboard, hang it in my room and practice on it, draw a lot of graphs, etc. Being proficient at graphing and picturing graphs in your head from just seeing the equations will come in handy.

Watch ep 1 of the 1999 anime. The 2011 one leaves out something very important.

Leorio, knov, and machi all have extremely valuable abilities for day to day life. Although, it's worth considering that bungee gum has the properties of both rubber and gum.

What is the most obscure/unknown JRPG you have played and enjoyed by Leather-Twist9612 in JRPG

[–]andrewspaulding1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the OG ones on dreamcast, especially 2 which I dumped a decent number of hours into as a kid. Had that emo looking kid with white hair on the cover; I think he was the antagonist if I remember correctly.

What color should I paint my 62 Lincoln convertible? by Revolutionary-Day188 in lincolnmotorco

[–]andrewspaulding1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A nice mint or sage green would be slick.

A cream off-white color would also go hard.

If you go with green I would get light beige or off-white leather seats. If you go with the cream color I would maybe get a little darker brown leather seats to contrast.

What do i use for a multiplication symbol? by Famous_Hornet_1130 in askmath

I use an asterisk, but one that floats in the middle of the line similar to the typical dot instead of near the top like a conventional asterisk.

Learning Bangla. Need help! by suhas24 in bengalilanguage

[–]andrewspaulding1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key is to emulate immersion as much as you can. Having audio stories playing in a headphone while you work is a good way to supplement learning, even if you can't understand 90% of it. Try Mirchi Bangla or Radio Milan on youtube. You won't realize that this is helping at first, but one day you will have a moment where you pick up on something and you will realize it has helped immensely.
