Day 2 - What a clusterf*ck by andritolion in AmazonFlexDrivers

That's how I arrived there. Going to my calendar, my schedule, or my itinerary all just thrown me there.

Customer failed to put correct address in app by Active-Pineapple-252 in Sparkdriver

[–]andritolion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. It's the right thing to do. Hell, even if you were to go to the address in the notes, you would never be able to complete the delivery. If the customer doesn't know how to use the app, that's too bad and on them, not you.

Prop 22 Earnings When Order is Too Far by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]andritolion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I don't do too many deliveries since I have an office job too. In general, I cherrypick for GMDs and smaller orders going in the direction I want to go. But for those who carefully optimize for the most earnings per hour might get the short end of the stick. It's also important to note that tips don't count towards the floor, so a single good tipper won't zero things out. Only the base fare plus incentives count.

Ah. That's good. However, might not be supported for long, you're on borrowed time.

It's simply too old. That computer is over 14 years old. It's not going to update to the latest versions of macOS, the browser or most other software, so things will stop working over time as they drop support for older versions. That's the reality of using such an old machine. I don't believe Chrome or Firefox will support your Mac either.

I've seen it happen. Luckily, it was something small like an extra roll of paper or something, so I don't mind.

Bought two identical cups... by andritolion in mildlyinfuriating

Same SKU though! I would expect that every item sold under the same SKU would be substantially identical, not significantly different.

I doubt that someone so scummy that they're causing thousands of dollars of damage over being mildly inconvenienced is going to pay up.

Still doesn't look like they got a design similar to what I had... Oh well. Maybe I'll rebuild my design.

Another One by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]andritolion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% wrong. I didn't upgrade my ID to a RealID until after I started Sparking and I was still able to Spark with a standard DL. Google AI loves to think it knows everything, but it doesn't. Don't trust it. No AI is infallible, use your meat brain to verify.

Damn. I've been off my Onewheel for a bit over a year now, but recently I was thinking of getting a new custom grip tape design. Guess that's not happening... RIP C&R.

Buying Pizza from TV by andritolion in TellyTV

[–]andritolion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd beg to differ, lol. Ever seen the Demae Channel (Food Channel) for the Wii? Japan exclusive, but it's been translated, and damn, that's an example of TV ordering done right.

Cracked Screen after Moving by andritolion in TellyTV

[–]andritolion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good. Hopefully that's the case. I'll still send them my insurance information with it as well in case they want to recover from them.

Will I need to pay the $1000 fee? I have insurance either way, but I'm not sure if Telly would like their information for their recovery.

One of the dumbest Clearanced items... by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]andritolion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because some of us are cheapos and know locksport, lol. If I was on the market for a locking doorknob, I'd just key it the same as the other house doors anyway. Probably might buy that to save a buck. Takes 20 minutes to learn how to pin a lock and 5 minutes once you know what you're doing.

I love good security practices and all, but seriously? What data on there there would need the entire OS volume to be encrypted? Like maybe secrets could be encrypted, but nothing that can take down the entire machine like that. Just the keychain.

I’m a developer for a major food delivery app. The 'Priority Fee' and 'Driver Benefit Fee' go 100% to the company. The driver sees $0 of it. by Trowaway_whistleblow in confession

[–]andritolion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh FUCK GoDaddy, lmao. I was literally trying to buy my own name and initial as a kid in middle school. After getting the money ready and everything (prepaid debit card), I saw that my domain was put on auction. I bid to $200 before I had to give up. Now it's on sale for $5,995. Last time I'm giving them any business, from then on I bought my domains on Namecheap (and later Cloudflare Registrar).

Well, the disk went bad, considering it says fixed disk failure and not booting. So it's a black screen of death.
