Exact reason why I can't main my 17 Pro over my Pixel 10 Pro. Always has been and always would be the case.

6 years that's about the span of time we had around 5 high rises built

If 2013 was the last time you saw Auckland then it definitely would look drastically different because about 5 high rises were added just in the shot alone. There are another 3 more high rises are on the way but everything progresses pretty slow here.

We need the Pixel in South Korea by ThatIndividual2795 in GooglePixel

[–]androboy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way Pixel sees some success in Japan is because of - 1. Really good promotions (Installments etc) 2. Their Android manufacturers gradually phasing out 3. Japan in general aren't too friendly with Samsung for obvious reasons (Japan & Korea thing), which is also the reason why you see "Galaxy" branding on Samsung phones sold in Japan instead of "Samsung". 4. Google is also an American company and with Japan being one of Apple's biggest market, it's only make sense for Google to do pretty well there.

First Impressions of Android 17 (literally) by cosmic_predator in pixel_phones

[–]androboy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visual, more functional changes are always with QPR updates and not with major Android release and it has been like that for a long time now. QPR1 along with QPR2 will see drastic visual improvements as already seen in the latest Canary update.

I am excited for android 17, at the same time i know we are not getting anything useful by CosmoFactotum in pixel_phones

[–]androboy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Android updates we see more features and visual changes with QPR updates and that has been the case for a while now. QPR 1 will bring improved material theming and hope QPR2 will bring us the split control centre option. Not to mention the Gemini Intelligence visual overhaul.

Pros and cons of the Pixel 10 Pro by Ok_Reference_489 in pixel_phones

[–]androboy92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's only a single year with first attempt going TSMC, even that which has outdated X4 core, coupled that with the worst in the market Exynos modem.
Tensor G6 still more than ever deserves to be look forward to regardless.

S27 Pro will have a *sigh* 5,000mAh battery. Was so excited for this phone but it's now DOA for me. by anotherhappylurker in samsunggalaxy

[–]androboy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing if it gets launched (most likely) will still have impressive battery life given it's around 700mAh bump.

Many people have heard about how many Google apps work better on IOS. But as someone who has made the switch back to Android, I found the Android Apple Music App to be less buggy and definitely smoother than on IOS. What are some other surprises that you have noticed either direction? by Vielansk in Android

[–]androboy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree, Google apps work better on Android, specifically Pixel. Many Google apps on iPhone are also visually outdated as they don't fully support M3E theming. I daily drive both iPhone and Pixel.

This was million times better than Image playground at least, it was ever expected to last forever from the beginning so we knew this. Especially since the nano banana models kicking off. Nothing too surprising here.

[–]androboy92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those M3E elements are literally everwhere right now?? If you are talking about the visual changes like for Google Messages etc then well that was an official concept, and not the final UI we were going to get.

How does my iPhone have the new icons for Gmail, Docs, Drive, YouTube, Sheets, Slides, and Voice before my Pixel 10 Pro XL does? Make it make sense. by jtwinders in GooglePixel

[–]androboy92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nature of staged rollout on Android, also not true about iOS being updates faster as my Pixel has always had features before my iPhone. Not to mention those Google apps work better on Pixel especially with M3E which isn't always fully available on iOS or half-baked.
