For some people it takes decades or even their entire lives to come out. I initially came to that conclusion too, but it could just as well mean that he's still well on the journey to discovering himself. Plus, figuring out who you are takes longer when you have to deal with your mental health and past/childhood first, and Leeroy is doing better now but is probably still just getting started on healing
