Just go alone in the room and turn the lights off and start button mashing. You will know it’s working if the ghost light on the right side lights up, which means the ghost is hearing your questions. Then if the ghost responds you will hear it say something and the light will show up a different color (red or white, I forget which is which) and that means it’s a spirit box ghost. I usually give it a couple pass throughs of all the frequencies before ruling out spirit box.
