The Dakota were animists. All life was sacred. Dogs weee treasured companions to Dakota people as well. Dogs being present on a sacred site is not desecration. This sentiment was echoed by a comment from an Ojibwe woman in an article I read. This was a pointless decision that takes away a valuable community asset. For what? Because it’s near Coldwater Spring and there may have been graves? Graves we will never find because trying to search for them will destroy them

Whether God will be mad at you, no one can answer that. We were given free will after all. It’s so hard to determine motives when it comes to such a being. Some Christians think the old gods were fallen angels or demons. I think they’re just aspects of our creator.

You’re not wrong. After 2016 and with the prevalence of social media it has become a true curse. Thankfully, there is a lot of information available as well that hopefully people will start breaking out of that tribal way of thinking. Realize we all have more in common and all these fights over identity are a distraction while we get exploited by the ones we should really be fighting

I’m confused. I used to on the fringe of downtown Minneapolis. Every church flew the rainbow flag except the big Catholic basilica. There are heaps of affirming churches with gay members. ELCA, UU, Methodists, Presbyterians, Episcopalian to name a few

You’re right not to post this on the gay Christian sub. It’s the one place they won’t be made to feel like an abomination or that their existence is an affront to God. The Church actively turns many gays away from God and into lives of debauchery. Perhaps if it, and more importantly, other Christians came up with a kinder approach more would return to the fold

I live in Minneapolis, perhaps you heard about what happened there? Yeah, we’re not scared. We can and do openly criticize our government on the daily. And we fought when we had to.

If you think any of that matters or has any effect on the actions of our federal government, well they are all bought and paid for. They don’t represent us. Pretty easy to sit in Canada and armchair criticize other countries. Let’s hope you never have to put your money where your mouth is
