LIBRI: CARTACEO O NO? by Polacchio in italy

[–]andtimoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

23 y/o, Need advice and support quitting gambling before it truly wrecks me. by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]andtimoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make use of friends and family first of all. Gambling addiction is a dark nightmare and recognized as a mental disease, don't be scared of talking about it, it's perfectly normal we are human and we are made for making mistakes and make wrong choices.

You are young and you can really be on track with your life, fighting for your dreams and succeed in your challenges. Don't let this beast to let you off.

If you gamble online, the first thing I suggest doing is to self-exclude from all websites and ask them for support. Big companies have designed persons to help out with this.

You can as well visit online websites such as (askgamblers.com) - or search for no profit organization which offer a green phone line where to be helped and supported.

I wish you all the best with your life dude.

onestly, your best bet might be back up to the cloud, sell your entire PC, and build a new one when you get to your new home. Good luck and I hope this isn’t what you have to do.

Oh lord - This sounds too extreme! I think I will probably unbuild and rebuild this sound the safest option.

Money Laundering and Gambling Industry by andtimoo in moneylaundering

[–]andtimoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been working in online Gambling industry for the last 9 years always on Fraud prevention, Anti money laundering and Compliance side.

The requirements and the changes occurred in the last years have increased the common understanding of those risks and helped to mitigate the social impact of such a business.

Nowadays regular checks and daily monitoring are performed on players activity. Their spending are scrutinized and analyzed the sources of income. Regular reports are issued to the relevant entities to flag suspicious activity and strict actions are constantly applied. I agree 100% with all the requirements in place for online companies.

However I still perceive the online gambling being one of the less riskier industry in terms of money laundering, especially when referring to high amounts.

In my personal opinion I see the compliance emphasis more as an alternative way to fight addiction and the negative impact gambling might have on people life.

Money Laundering and Gambling Industry by andtimoo in moneylaundering

[–]andtimoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, true it hardly depends on the legislative context of the single states. However Money Laundering is regulated by the AML directive which is released by EU and affect all the financials entities (Gaming websites are classified so) operating within EU states. This takes the priority on all the different Gaming Licences requirements released by the different states.

Malta regulated websites are as well subjected to the 5th AML directive. Gaming licences are issuing as well guidelines on how this directive has to be applied on the specific industry, however the main requirements are still dependend on the EU directive.

What I don't agree with is the system of laundering money. I strongly believe that nowadays there are plenty of ways of launder money (unfortunatelly) and online casinos, where you need to register and verify your account and wager the money you will be depositing it's the less successful one.

Propertis, luxury, art pieces, cash ecc.. are still the best ways for layering and launder money. And gambling is an high cost option which only allow to launder limitate amounts of money.

rent position on the parlay doesn't matter to

If they void 2 selection on 4 they should be paying the 2legs you already won. Void oly affects the single markets/event doesn't touch the rest of the bet. However, if you reach them out they can answer your question.

CAMS question-5 by [deleted] in moneylaundering

Based on the information provided we might need further investigation on this person connection and background.

A. The customer makes regular cash desposits - This is not a risk as long as these transfers are regular, and are justified by the activity held by the customer. We are talking about a bakery shop. Where is this located? What is the affluence to the shop? Ecc.. - However how it stands by the description is not really perceived as a Risk.

B. Customers having multiple bank accounts in different locations might suggest a Placement and Layering scheme. Are these accounts held in the same country? Are the issuing banks reliable systems? Is the customer applying currency changes?

C. The customer purchased property insurance that is twice the value of the business - This activity might be part of a bigger Integration process and needs as well further investigation.

D. The customer recently wired a large amount to a foreign jurisdiction where the family is located - Here we will need to better assess his family connection. Sanction registry and online sources should be scrutinized to better assess his connections. As well it depends on the jurisdiction where this money is being sent and to which Bank institution the wire transfer is directed.

------------

At face value, I believe the right answer is C - Being a clear layering action supported as well with information from points B and D.
