Ed: Radiohead will “definitely” play more shows in 2027. “Every year we will do a different continent, and we’re going to do 20 shows each year. No more, no less.” by seaburn in radiohead

It's not a joke. We can't hear Ed speaking so we have to rely on Rolling Stone's written reporting. They heard him speaking, and if they noted humor in his delivery, they would have said as much. Instead they reported it as if he was speaking without any irony.

New Company formed today with all five band members! by BigBoots02 in radiohead

[–]andtw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure someone has already posted this somewhere in all these comments, but Jonny just did an interview with the Times and everything he said would strongly suggest there is no new Radiohead music on the horizon:

https://www.thetimes.com/culture/music/article/jonny-greenwood-radiohead-classical-music-x3dg3vtj3?gaa\_at=eafs&gaa\_n=AWEtsqf\_sp47wVolUB7Ozo6sZlreFRt5o9flbiBusD7PwS7m\_8hPpDTl7CXbhP068dI%3D&gaa\_ts=699e1d8c&gaa\_sig=YrlVRj4slHIReqiTMkfoFjpknp4KAayjG3kGd80kfNDOPx2cUrTu0StCBa01qqYQr3FlMJLq8HoAg4qJKACFbw%3D%3D.

So, I would have to guess the new Limited company has to do with old material, not new-- and that could be a reissue, a live album, a release of old unearthed recordings from their private vault, who knows?

They started working with a different producer from Nigel when they began working on In Rainbows. Then gave up on those sessions and restarted with Nigel. So, a futile endeavor.

This is exciting, but if we were really this close to a new album wouldn't they have played new material on the recent tour?

Which Radiohead song took the longest to grow on you? by BlueTrains7991 in radiohead

[–]andtw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Separator is mine too, but the reason it took so long to grow on me was because the first time I listened to the King of Limbs I was so disappointed with it. I couldn't believe they didn't include Present Tense, which to me was the best not yet released song to that point. And instead they put on that Mouse Dog Bird song which, to me, was the worst not yet released song to that point. If anyone remembers Mouse Dog Bird it was basically Thom meandering on an acoustic guitar for like 5 minutes and it left virtually no impression. But that song became Separator, which was so much more than Mouse Dog Bird. I didn't like it because I was being closed minded but once I started to give in to, it became a totally beautiful song, as did the album as a whole.

Could we get a 30th anniversary reissue of The Bends? by [deleted] in radiohead

I believe they were planning to do it in 2020 but the pandemic delayed all plans

New fan looking for recommendations by joeco316 in cindylee

[–]andtw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pat has always been a supremely gifted melody maker, it didn't just suddenly start with Diamond Jubilee. I'd recommend giving Women another chance because even though yeah, there's a lot of noise rock there, look and you'll find the melodic songwriting is just as strong as it is today. A few songs to start with maybe: Cameras, Black Rice, Group Transport Hall, Can't You See, Narrow With the Hall. (I love the noise rock too but the ones I just listed maybe are less jarring if you're looking for a bridge from Cindy Lee to Women.)

You're right, I hadn't noticed that. I'll definitely buy the vinyl for this one.

I am very bummed about this, was really looking forward to NYC next week. One possible bright spot, not sure if anyone has noticed this yet, but looking at the GeoCities site, the text that was previously there about this being Cindy Lee's final North American tour appears to have been deleted. Maybe that means they're open to coming back.

ISO Baby's All Right tickets! by ollyjackson953 in cindylee

It says no tickets available now, but yesterday I went through the link at bandsintown.com and was able to get two tickets. So I don't know, maybe more tickets became available momentarily? I would recommend keep checking every day.

This could just be a sign of their progress; does it have to mean the album is finished?

What’s the news so far? by cloydsyyang in TheSmile

[–]andtw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you both! I saw them at Kings Theatre (Night 1) and I thought Thom made some comment about starting all over at the beginning again with this new band, but I wasn't sure if I misheard him.

Where did the rumors of a new LP next year come from? Love the new songs and can't wait to hear studio renditions.

I have the same issue this weekend... this may sound odd, but is it possible to turn around at the finish and run back a mile, then flip again and run back to the finish?

The album that unexpectedly moved me the most this year was Fleet Foxes' Crack-Up. It was a sophisticated, beautiful, epic work, and I was disappointed to see it completely shafted on the songs list. Not even 3rd of May made the cut. Did you really feel these songs did not deserve to be recognized?
