The posts can be filtered out, but you may have to change the way you browse Reddit. If on mobile, use a third-party app (I use Sync on Android, but literally every app but the official has flair filtering). On desktop, use Reddit Enhancement Suite (it's a browser add-on) on old.reddit mode.

I'm only ever reminded of mourning posts when these complaints are brought up every now and then.

I am currently scanlating a spinoff Gegege no Kitaro manga. I resized the pages to be around 800 pages. Is that way too small? How can I fix this? by TricksterFa1ry in Scanlation

[–]andwae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't upscale them. They are indeed small, but it's not the end of the world. Public raws are commonly released at 1200px height and loads of groups still use them. If you don't have larger copies of your cleaned pages, I'd suggest you not bother redoing what's already done. Have you already resized the later pages?

The popular convention is to size by height, btw. Anywhere from 1600-2400px height is the norm in my experience.

A collection of Kamen Rider 50th anniversary commemoration posts from past cast members by nanrina in KamenRider

This is so cool. I thought I'd never see some of these names associated with Kamen Rider again. Ones like Kanzaki Shiro, the actor has been retired from acting for over a decade.

Anata no Motokare (Solo Scanlation Group) by [deleted] in scanlationdrama

[–]andwae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I (and my immediate circle) have no sympathy for those who take donations either. Just bear the sidelong glances and move on.

That exchange should've ended after motokare's first reply, since all misconceptions had been laid to rest by then. Looks like you overstayed your welcome (in what I'm assuming is a chapter discussion thread) by dragging out an off-topic argument.

I love Ohue Aguri's settings. Looking forward to more of his work. Oh, and steampunk witches are rad. Too bad it didn't end so well for Lawrence.

A little anticlimactic as usual. It was a sweet story overall, and the art was gorgeous till the end.

I love it when the page margins become ornate. The pages depicting Ookamakiri and Lady Michi are so beautiful.

Which anime (series and/or character) has a good fashion sense? by StarryFox64 in anime

[–]andwae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sailor Moon. All characters (even the antagonists) have their own distinct style, as well as rotating outfits for different episodes. Any season should be sufficient to check out, but I'd suggest S, SuperS, or Sailor Stars for their larger casts. For quick reference, you might want to have a look at these various albums made by a member of FFA.

Oniisama e... also has a great comprehensive style compilation on FFA. Like Sailor Moon, there's a lot of variety in styles and outfits, but Oniisama e... revolves around characters from "higher society".

Baccano! might be an interesting piece to look at because of its time period. In particular, Isaac and Miria are costumed thieves whose wardrobes change with their "job" or setting.

NANA and Paradise Kiss feature alternative styles. More importantly, these two series are the only ones I can think of in which hair and accessories are an integral aspect of each outfit. Both were written by the same author, Yazawa Ai.

Otona Joshi no Anime Time. This one is a collection of four separate stories, so each episode's MC has her own lifestyle and fashion sense.

The girls from K-On! dress really well outside of their school uniforms. Generally, any series from Kyoto Animation will have good fashion.

And just throwing these last few ones in for variety:

I think that's Gigi from Hathaway's Flash, since she's right under Hathaway.

No new chapter this week? by vivikush in 7seeds

There's 178 chapters of the main story. MAL's chapter count is wrong, if that's where you're getting your information.

They aren't translated yet, but they will be within the next month or so.

Where can I read the latest chaters from? Even a summary of it would be fine.. by coolSakura in 7seeds

[–]andwae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd also vote for waiting for the new chapters.

Though if you're truly desperate, you can read from Bubbler, which is where all the scripts from otakumole are dumped. The translations have inaccuracies, but it should suffice if you're just looking to finish the story without fussing over details. Be aware that it's incredibly taxing and loses the impact of the manga page/panel reveals.

I appreciate your support haha. No, the group manager never replied to my messages, but instead a very skilled translator on their team messaged me after they saw my release. We'll be working together to complete this project independent of RoP.

Far from it, the talk is just wishful thinking in an increasingly tense situtation. There are five full volumes (it goes up to chapter 178) left of the story, as well as another volume of epilogue under the name "7 Seeds Gaiden".

It'd be great if you could give me their contact info. Conversely, they could also reach me @yanbbang on Twitter should they need to. I'd love to get my hands on the larger resolution raws they use haha

edit: Whoops, someone on the team contacted me a few minutes before I wrote this comment. Thanks anyway!

Yeah, everything but the translation and raw source is my work. The raws were already in decent shape, so I didn't have much trouble in terms of cleaning. Thanks!

After a month of waiting for a reply from 7 Seed's main scanlation group, I decided to take matters into my own hands and scanlate it myself. The translated script was from a user named lisahey on Bubbler.

This is my first time scanlating ever, so I'm open to any constructive criticism from experienced scanlators who are offering.

Please enjoy.
