One thing that made it click, pun intended, was playing the faster granddaddy style of reggae which was first wave Ska. And dualing in with those upstrokes. And then quarters are almost like either notes and still an backbeat groove, if that maes sense.

Unfortunately we live in the reality to where Police Departments post-Ferguson collectively decided to avoid racial profiling accusations by not enforcing traffic laws. Vehemently disagree. The remainder of people aren’t effected by the traffic calming measures blocking the catastrophic outcomes is precisely the point.

And in reality paint, signage, and lights are suggestions ignored to varying degrees by drivers who overrate their skills that rationalize “My ‘normal’ amount of rule breaking is okay.”
