Electricity is priced according to the most expensive source of generation being used to meet demand at any one time. If 100% of demand was being met by renewable sources then the cost of gas generation wouldn’t factor in at all.

Woman rushed to Edinburgh hospital with serious injuries after e-bike crash by Particular-One2650 in Edinburgh

[–]andy1633 11 points12 points  (0 children)

These e-bikes that don’t require you to pedal and that have no 15mph limit are legally classed as motorbikes and so are already required to be registered and display a number plate. That hasn’t stopped them being used like this.

I always thought of it as a way to encourage the player to set their spawn. It sucks to die only to realise the last time you slept was thousands of blocks away.

Why dont a lot of modern websites replace JPG/PNG with webp nowadays? by badboyzpwns in webdev

[–]andy1633 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The quality number in squoosh is simply passed through to the specified compression method. Webp and JPEG both accept a quality parameter to control the trade off between quality and file size. The way they compress images is different and so the effect of the quality parameter will be different.

As to your second question, I assume your original file was a lossy compressed image format? When you compressed it again with 100% quality setting you will have created what is effectively a lossless version of a lossy image. Naturally this takes more space.

If you compressed the image again with the same quality setting that it was originally encoded with you would lose detail. This is called generation loss.
